Not the best guy to start this thread but given that there's one for McLaren, I figured I'd take a shot at it, despite my limited Ferrari fanfare. I tend to disagree with the Ferrari mentality on... well, just about everything. My disdain stems from the Ferrari first mentality that's left a ton of bodies (figuratively and literally) strewn in their wake.
Jules Bianchi was left out of the poll for obvious reasons, but some had him as the shoe-in for the role. I was very loudly opinionated upon the re-hiring of Raikkonen in 2014 and as it turns out even with my limited Ferrari expertise, I was able to correctly foresee the embarrassment that decision has been. I know, very anti Ferrari slant here but I couldn't imagine Raikkonen's reportedly 22 million a year contract being extended, when there's a laundry list of drivers that would IMO be doing the same if not a markedly better job and wouldn't require a car to be built specifically to suit him as is Kimi's trademark. This year's car was such a car and still the struggles remain.
No skin in the game for me so I have no vested interest, but I'd love to see a known and consistent driver like Hulkenberg or Bottas together with Vettel to further test his measure of "greatness".
I'm expecting a lot of changes for 2017, but this, along with the introduction of Haas to the grid may be the biggest bit of change next year. Given the Ferrari/Haas relation, I wouldn't be surprised to see one of these names already in the Ferrari program in a Haas either.
