What an entertaining race! Love it. Mercedes needs to go back to the drawing board with their clutch, that race was lost at the start. It was almost an uneventful drive for Vettel, everyone else around had headaches from beginning to end. Very happy for Red Bull's results. I'm sure it's no coincidence that Newey was floating around this weekend. They made a good step. Two Red Bull drivers on the podium... who'd have thunk it?? Then again who'd have thunk Alonso in 5th. Solid Solid drive and he clearly showed his worth for the team all weekend. Excellent race all around.
F1 is boring, it's a procession at the front, there's no competition. Well, the competition comes from Ferrari, Red Bull and McLaren if they bring it. Not because of rules or engine freezes or anything else. So please let's stop blaming everything else but the teams that NEED to step it up.

And Toro Rosso, good results for them (Sainz was unfortunate, but was in a good position before his car died on him) To be fair to McLaren while they had shit all in qualifying they were pretty well paced in the race. Considering Button stayed on mediums and Alonso pitted for softs during the SC period Button actually drove just as good as Alonso.

The most entertaining race! Good speed and committment from Hamilton, let down by some messy incidents. Lacklustre from Nico, didnt deserve a big result and didnt get one, was at fault for his collision - so unlucky with puncture but lucky to be unpunished. Seb - brilliant drive, Kimi needs to change his name to Webber, Ricc could have done better, excllent from Kyviat, Williams to weak Max was fantastic as was Alonso, happy for McLaren, Maldo And Lewis finally gets the kind of luck Nico did last year when not at his best, potentially a 27 point turn around, from Nico winning/Lewis out the points to Lewis actually increasing his WC lead

That was the BEST RACE IN A LONG LONG TIME. I loved that race and now, I am one less arm because I've bitten the arm off due to the sheer amount of action and entertainment and surprises in that race.
That was an amazing race. Vettel now is 3rd equal to the all time F1 winners with 41 wins, McHonda finishes AHEAD OF BOTH MERCS, Verstappen NEARLY on the Podium and........
FERRARI!!!!!!! YEAH

As soon as they clashed I was up and shouting "puncture, puncture, Pleeeeease a puncture!".
10s later.... my prayers were answered.

What I cant compute is how Lewis unaviodably understeers into Ricc, gets an instant drive through, and Nico avoidable cuts into Ricc - no further action
just doesnt make any sense at all

And didn't Maldonado only get a 5s penalty for driving into someone there, and he was hardly trying to avoid (no steering lock) the incident - yet HAM gets a drive through, where you could see he was actively trying to avoid?
Does seem a little inconsistent?

Hamilton mistake in that race was trying to overtake Rosbersg through sector 2, not a place to pass. It would have been an easy win given the Performance of the Mercedes but damn that mistake made for a an excellent rest of the race. It really is the difference between the Mercedes driver pairing. I will get past you, versus if I just hang here I can get the championship lead. Inconsistent penalties throughout the race but I guess Maldonado kept the stewards too busy to notice.
Have to go back and re-watch the race but here's an "odd" question. Did you guys notice one of the cameras, I believe it was the one that catches the cars after they left pit lane color shift? Maybe the light or something but that camera in particular was shifting the colors, specifically evident in making the Ferrari look magenta instead of red. Check it out if you've got the race recorded and tell me I'm not crazy.

On my feed, we have Matthew Marsh and Alex Yoong for the post race analysis...and Marsh was like "Lewis only escaped a disaster today thanks to Nico being so terribly bad"....and Yoong asked him to rate Nico's race, Marsh is like "...oh D-, or try harder next time..no wait, actually, don't try at all" ROFL

RC... I told you things were going too perfectly. LOL. Yep you did. And I was a bit nervous. But these things happen and it's nit ended up too bad. nico could have won that if he'd been looking for the win instead of always looking to cover Lewis. On fast tyres he'd have won. And Merc should have overridden him and insisted on the faster tyre. Some mistakes from Lewis today, messy. Like he said, tiday, when he had two choices of what to do, he made the wrong choice. But a pleasing pace, much faster than Rosberg and some good overtakes that contributed to the damage limitation. ( LOL Danni R just dropped his trophy and is joking that it looks better now it's bent. Lol) MAX VESTAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!! Bin waiting for that!! And with a drive through and a broken wing!! he could have been on the podium. Great drive from him!! Shout out to Vettel. Very good drive! I think he'd have had it a bit more difficult had Lewis got away cleanly. And a good show from McLaren today. Hope they can build on this.

You deserve this one Liam! But don't get used to it, okay? I am not Sagi if that is what you are implying Besides, business will be as usual in Spa...Unless we're going to have another bizarre race, which Belgium can sometimes produce.

Thats a disgrace - 2 points for unintentionally being part of a non race ending first lap (after restart) contact
I just watched the start again, and the thing I can see is Lewis being overly cautious in the face of Sebs aggresive swerve heading into the first corner. Lewis brakes earleir than Nico, Seb and Kimi,, and slots into 4th probably thinking of the wider title chase. Had he not yielded I reckon the entire race would have been different, as it was he was stuck behind the slower Rosberg who then moved twice ahea of Lewis causing him to take to the gravel - again over caution.
Yet he ends up with damage, a drive thru and 2 points?

Lewis was over cautious at the start and could have covered Nico off. He didn't and got in a mess. Now he has PENALTY POINTS!
