We all know about the killing of civilians and Rodney King and numerous other incidents, this video, although not on that level (or maybe because) is probably more insight into these cops true natures. These are cops who turned up to a school shooting a few years ago and refused to enter the building while the gunman was still shooting. Possibly not the bravest and most honourable police forces in the world

Those policemen sounded really scary! What was the school shooting Cookie? I've just read a book about Columbine, written by Brooks Brown, a guy who knew and had been a friend of the two killers. The book is called 'No easy answers'. The police tried to frame him because he was saying things that the police didn't like. Things like his family had reported one of the killers a year or so prior to the shooting because of death threats, and also they reported to the police that the killer had a website talking about making pipe bombs. The police denied there was ever any report and they withheld evidence from future tribunals. He also highlighted the fact that the police didn't engage the killers even though a student who was trapped had an open phone line informing the police where the killers were and pleading for help. Students put a sign up at a window asking for help because a teacher was bleeding to death but still they didn't enter even though students had just escaped outside from that very room. The teacher was left for four hours and died. What do you do if the police try to discredit genuine evidence? This is the point the guy and his family were making. What do you do?

Yes it was dreadful how it was handled. Harris and Klebold's remote bombs actuality failed, if the police had acted quickly they could have saved so many lives. And even worse I think is how the sheriff tried to discredit Brooks by saying he was in on it and knew what the killers were planning. He did this because he didn't like the things Brooks was saying about the police inefficiency. Brooks and his family worked tirelessly to try to get justice and everytime they met corruption. I didn't realise lawsuits were still being filed. I hope they get justice.

It's not just the asshole cops that feel they are the law and don't give a shit about the oath they take to protect and serve. It's the fraternity of police where the they smooth out and cover up police wrongdoing, which is just a bad as the original act.
Melissa Harris Perry has been a professor of African-American studies at Princeton University and is now affiliated with Wake University. She host a television show on MSNBC and is one of the most poignant and informative television talking heads you're ever going to hear on the topic. This report pretty much sums up the issue.
Sadly since last year there's been dozens of documented shooting of unarmed back men, one of the more disturbing ones is the shooting of a 12 year old boy that was playing in a playground with a BB gun, the cops rushed in no questions asked and shot the boy within 1.3 seconds of arriving on the scene. Listen to the cop radio the call in, saying the suspect was 20 years old.
These two are par for the course, both officers now charged for murder after not only escalating the situation where they unessesarily shoot an unarmed man, but then lying and manipulating evidence and their own police reports to try and clear themselves. Who's going to take the word of the black guy right?

Those are shocking videos. The woman in the first one was very good . How can they get away with shooting innocent people all the time? Ok, in the heat if the moment sometimes errors are made or wrong decisions taken.. But it's like they really aren't bothered. And the covering up is the worst thing.

There are some asshole cops here too but not as many.
At 15 or so on the way home from playing on the field after school., myself and a few friends got stopped by a police officer because one of us kicked a can that was on the floor. It wasn't ours but he pulled up next to us, told us to stop and was instantly rather rude, aggressive sounding and trying to belittle us.
He then demanded that we pick the can up and take it to the nearest bin/trash. I was rather quick to think and said "no, it's not ours and it's covered in germs so unless you you have gloves and a bag we won't pick it up as all we did was kick a can that was in the middle of the path to side of the path"
He tried to argue it saying "if I tell you to do something, you have to do it" which we don't and in that case I am well within my rights to decline as he did not see us drop the can.
He then said "I've got you all on my dashcam so I will be letting the school know and your parents will all be informed" (Firstly, we weren't in our uniform it was in our bags and he never informed the school and none of our parents were ever told)
If he hadn't of been a douche when he pulled up I would have put it in a bin.

Bullies. I know two police officers and they're both fantastic people, very fair and very good at their job. But I think some join for the wrong reasons. So they can bully others and indulge the nasty sides of their nature. It's like a milder case of the way all the sadists come out of the woodwork in regimes like Hiltler's Stalin's Pol Pot's. I think most of you on here wont remember Tex, an old mod form the . He was training to be a 'deputy' . He's a case in point.

As WBs clips show, the US cops have become mostly a fascist para military with no mandate for protecting the public, just of 'protecting themselves' And the Justice department has become a joke term in light of the evidence mounting.
Hopefully every single citizen will buy a dashcam and use the internet to try and get justice instead of leaving it to the obviously corrupt system itself.
As far as over here, its basically the same, the majority of those attracted to the police are cowardly bullies not brave enough to be real thugs without the protection of the force. And ever since the minimum height and fitness parameters were removed they look like a joke. Short fat unfit bullies mostly

Except the two I know. They're definately not. One's female and is brill at defusing situations, where the guys often go in and make the situation worse. The saving grace with our police force is that most aren't armed and so cannot turn up at an incident and start shooting without properly assessing. They can call armed backup if required.

I am confident that any cops you know will be the exceptions! Female cops probably get bullied as much as the public by their fat pig faced colleagues.
Decent non corrupt cops seem to be the exception to the rule when it comes to the reports over the last few years about high level investigations into public figures etc

Officer Pedro Serrano began taping his superior officer Deputy Inspector Christopher McCormack after he was given a poor performance review. Serrano alleges it was the result of him not meeting his summonses quotas and he wanted evidence to show he was being unfairly treated. The tape and testimony are a part of a class-action lawsuit against the NYPD's stop-and-frisk policy. The NYPD's defense was able to get Serrano to admit that McCormack didn't say "all blacks and latinos." So there's a victory for people who still want to believe that the policy wasn't out and out racist. For his part, Officer Serrano says he's been ostracized and called a "rat" by fellow officers. There are good cops and there are bad cops and there are cops that have been corrupted by an unjust and unsupportive system. You may feel it is unfair to demonize all law enforcement but you can at least champion those who step out of the blue shadow to point out injustice. Daily Kos
