So, we all know that next year we'll have Hass F1 joining us with the Ferrari power unit
They are more than likely going to use a base Ferrari chassis design however they might go for a completely different design on the chassis to essentially test a completely different chassis for Ferrari and themselves to find out what ones better for 2017.
As part of the deal Hass & Ferrari have, Hass will get to use the Ferrari wind tunnel, there is undoubtedly going to be a loophole that Ferrari are exploiting (might already be doing it) allowing them to share information freely which pretty much turns the team into a 4 car team doubling wind tunnel time, testing... etc etc
I've seen comments on several forums with people condoning and supporting the fact everyone knows some sort of data sharing will happen, be that cheating by sharing illegally or by a loophole (it only takes 1 word for rule to be useless). They are basically wanting Ferrari to cheat to get back to the top spot...
For example on Reddit:
The tides may however turn, with the rumours about Mercedes and Manor potentially teaming up, Manor being given/helped develop a car near identical to Mercedes' 2015 car which should be atleast a top mid-field team and potentially an agreement to let them use their wind tunnel for the very same reasons Hass & Ferrari are sharing. There are also rumors of Williams too joining in on this as they have strong ties with Mercedes.
As for Red Bull, if Mercedes follow what Ferrari are exploiting then Red Bull will more than likely do the same with Toro Rosso.
McLaren on the other hand appear to be pretty much alone only Sauber and Force India would be left for them to choose from (Lotus are more than likely to go Renault route, which means Renault would want to do it with Sauber or Force India too)
If one team are doing it then I think all the other teams should follow as it mutually benefits both teams. I would love to see Mercedes give Manor their 2015 car for 2016, that would be awesome to see Manor jump up the field and be battling with Williams & Red Bull
