Today Yesterday I failed to get Glastonbury tickets. Glastonbury used to be a big part of my life. I first went in '98, and used to go every year. And when I wasnt there, I'd spend all day on a forum chatting about it, planning the next visit, and basically talking crap about it (sound familiar?). I havent been since 2009 - the year of my Stag Weekend. Every now and then I think about going again - but the stress of ticket day, coupled with the disappointment of ticket day - and then the stress of will it / wont it rain for the 3 months leading up to it, makes it just too much effort for a man of my years. Anyway against my better judgement, I agreed last week to try for tickets, to go with my sister-in-law next year. And once I made that decision to go, I was like an excited little school kid again. I was away for the weekend, so didnt have the ability to try for tickets myself - but I was in contact with my sister-in-law the whole of Saturday and Sunday morning. Then 9am came. My SIL sat there, refreshing the loading page, waiting and hoping for the booking page to load - instead of the dreaded - "sorry, our servers are currently busy" page. But after just 31 minutes, I saw the dreaded tweet... I messaged my sister with the hope she had been successful. But alas, no. 31 minutes to sell out 118,200 tickets. That 3813 tickets a minute. 64 tickets a second. All to stand in a muddy field for 5 days. Cold and wet, And drunk And I am once again gutted. If you ever catch me saying "Im thinking of going to Glasto next year" again - please stab me.

That's incredible, how quickly they sold out! Sorry you lost out. But LRW don't be too down, switch that excitement on to Silverstone and come to the GP!
Silverstone can do muddy fields and beer like the best of them!!

I get what you are saying RC - and I might get hung drawn and quartered for saying this here.... But its not the same, nor is it as good. I like going to Silverstone - don't get me wrong, but Silverstone can get a bit boring. I might just come on the Sunday. Im now looking at alternative festivals.

I was never. Correction, I've never been the outdoorsy type. I've seen many an artist but always in an onesythreesy controlled one day environment.
It's so much better being drunk indoors with ready access to a toilet. Youth!

Oh no - there is something magical about being at a big outdoor environment - even in rainy old England.
Im not sure if I'd cope as well if I was a woman.
Festival toilets are the WORST.

The festivals stateside are less wet since they've mostly in the south west.
