At last in F1 he could hide his screw ups at the back of the grid, when he screws up out sailing theres literally only one way to go.
I like this part Whitmarsh will report to Ben Ainslie – BAR’s Team Principal – and the board, on which he will have a seat.
He is already up to his disturbing ways, lets hope Ben doesnt have to fight to keep his company

I like his speech "I am a very lucky man, I don't need to work anymore to survive"...standard go-to response for high profilers who've been kicked out the door on their ar$e.

Sniffpetrol did a parody about Whitmarsh' exit from F1...wished I could find it..Re him last being seen walking in the fells...collecting rare plants or something.
I dislike MW type of person...all smiley nicey nicey on the surface... but really underhand & devious...
I can't understand how this BAR lot.. have not checked out the decline at Macca with MW as TP...

He told them McLaren went down hill after he left, and they believed him.

I was going to place this in the McLaren thread but it would be an injustice to them. Have at it cookie.

And what about the fans he saddened when he screwed around with Lewis and Mclaren to aid his blue eyed boy?? Start of Mclarens down fall, loss of championships....Whitmarsh's watch!!!

Staying away as much as he can? or no one wanted him back? or he has no balls to deal with the derision and public scrutiny that comes with single handedly killing a top team in 3 years flat
To slink off the way he did tells us how badly he really did. And maybe if he hadnt disturbingly colluded with Mosely on Fota, Kers, RRA, etc things might be better. If he hadnt been the weakest leader ever of a group able to breakaway from FOM and let RBR in

I reckon the fact he is sudenly speaking out and more and more means he is having to explain that F1 and not sailing is where his 'expertise' lies. If he was doing well in sailing we wouldnt hear jack Maybe he wants to see jenson in a sailors uniform just one more time

I think Kimi had reached his full potential when at McLaren in 2004, 2005, 2006 but had jack all to show for it since the car couldn't finish enough races. And it looked like 2007 was the year his peak had reached and he spent the year stagnant and heading downwards to clinch his much deserved single WDC for McLaren, in a Ferrari. IMO Kimi deserved a WDC even if it was at Lewis' expense, but Lewis had shown enough in his rookie year to create all the fans/haters of his F1 career.
