If Mercedes can't win here, Redbull Racing has my full support.

Oh yes! Singapore, been looking forward to this one. Hopefully Merc won't be on the pace just like last year, I have to admit i did enjoy seeing Merc struggle for genuine pace for once, but I do think they have learnt their lesson from 2015 and will be quite competitive for the race win, or possibly yet dominate the weekend perhaps, Anyways hoping for a good fight between the top 3 teams. Should be a good weekend.

Here's why I think it might turn out to be a two team race... This will be won by two stopping, and some teams are going the three stop route for sure.

depends how long the ultra's go for, 2 stop would be a stretch too far wouldn't it? unless of course Merc and Red Bull get away with doing Q2 on supersofts and avoid the ultrasoft during the race. All too interesting.

Two stop was last year's winning strategy. This year's tires are supposed to be more "resilient" for lack of a better word. It's all down to getting the tires to work, that's why Merc got caught out last year, they just couldn't do that at every race they got caught out. They say they fixed it, but IMO this is a Red Bull circuit to lose. With their raky car and all.

I don't have F1 betting here but if I did, it would be so worth dropping a tenner on Verstappen and Raikkonen making contact.

Some interesting fodder here regarding the cumulative positions lost/gained by each driver over the last fourteen races.

Lewis tested the halo in FP1 and was half a second faster than Rosberg without a halo . Both on super Softs. Button had a fuel issues and had to get pushed back to the pits. He also said this...... 12:58 Button's report to McLaren: "Very, very low grip and too much understeer"

Mercedes look decent, on soft tyres they're only 6 tenths away from Red Bull who are on ultrasofts.
Rosbergs crash looked odd, I personally think the front left had an issue rather than the rear as sky seem to think.

it was odd... and yeah, the fact that the Mercs set their time on the Soft compound is interesting. The ferrari looked very solid here and no need to mention the Red Bull chassis is pristine already. Interesting that Nico lost it on the infamous turn 18, that corner takes one out every race, interesting that it's already claimed a victim in FP1.

Completely missed FP@ but I'm glad I tweaked my order a bit in the forum league. Qualifying is going to be interesting tomorrow, I think Mercedes is back dominating one lap pace here but the race result is going to be determined after lap one. Turn 18 is always good for a safety car or three.

Interesting that no one went out on Soft or Super Soft in Q1. I think it's a Red Bull race to lose, hopefully there will be a real fight for the podium tomorrow, maybe only room for one Merc on it too from the looks of things.
