Rosberg can become a world champion here, let's see if he does. I've said before that I'd rather him do just than instead of finishing second here and second in Abu Dhabi, it would not only completely bring the entirety of the season down to Hamilton's DNF in Malaysia, but put a tremendous damper of the pivot into the new regulations and new ownership coming into the sport next year. At least a win and a seal here by Rosberg would squelch all of that winter discussion. He's won here two before, a threepeat can't be out of the question knowing this has been one of the few circuits his team mate has been unable to get on the win column. The most anticipated result in the world for me this week, sorry Hillary. Anyway, a lot of other things going on behind the Mercs. Red Bull stomping their authority on the second spot, I expect them to do very well here, especially if there's rain, there's always rain in Interlagos, but it's Rosberg's championship we're talking about. This guy has been the one lucky duck. I expect Ferrari's struggles to continue here and don't be surprised if once again there's a Force India biting their heels in qualifying. Hulkenberg does very well here. Force India get the team award of the year really. They've over performed given their budget and they've managed to continue developing the car to not only leap frog Williams, but as stated, be ruffling Ferrari feathers. Kudos to them. Anything else to discuss? Oh Yeah, Verstappen he's been up and down on Ricciardo, haven't quite decided who's coming out on top here this weekend. Maybe we'll get a little bit of settled news coming out of the weekend regarding next year's grid!

Anyone that can find the press conference and watch it, do so. Really good to see Charlie in there discussing the reasons the penalties were given or not given. It's the antidote for a lot of the diarrhea that comes out of some desolate corners of the interwebz. Charlie sits in around the 15 minute mark.

I'm in Bangkok. Flew here from Uk then went straight on an internal flight to Changmei and just back to Bangkok. I'm very confused with time zones and jet lag and I thought quali had happened early this morning. it seems it hasn't.

Or maybe he didn't improve enough. I had 1:09.811 interestingly enough the cars were slower in S3 than last year. Only Mercedes managed to improve on last year's pole time so something happened to the circuit... not that I could have possibly gone too aggressive on the pole time.

This guy has been making these annotated pole lap videos for a bit now. The next time you hear someone say the cars are easy to drive, show them this. Keep in mind, Interlagos is actually one of the more straight forward circuits.

Ok, so I was a bit off in my first complaint... I tipped 1:10:871 and was happy to see Lewis on a 1:10:860 first off. I thought the spots of rain would hurt more. Cold temps and odd sprinkles probably kept them out of the 1:09 times.

I think the colder temps and residual moisture played a part. Also, if Mercedes had gone for higher speed the would have pushed the 1:09 easily. As it was they were only what, 6th & 8th fastest.. after being in the bottom 5 on Friday because of their wing setup. That's their advantage, they can cut 10kph off their pace to give better aero grip and still be ahead.

If Nico were to have some type of Mechanical and Hamilton wins what you'd have the points lead swing 6 points towards Hamilton. Now, those six points mean nothing since you'd have created a situation where either driver Lewis or Nico would HAVE to win in Abu Dhabi in order to win the championship. What does that do to the ratings for the final round of the season?
WWF1, yeah it's been joked about for some time but it would be hard to discount the above hypothesis if it were to happen. Maybe the rain will do it, Bernie can't control the rain right?
Carry on, nothing to see here.

Is this what Toto meant when he assured us that this battle would go on to the last race of the year? Is the Technology in F1 so advanced they can control the weather? The last race/s we had with cool/showers condition gave us a Rosberg finish of 7th and 5th places. A similar result would mean that either driver would be in a must win situation to win the title. That would spice up the ratings for what's usually a boring Abu Dhabi. I mean Trump wins the election and and F1 controls the weather, it does all seem very much like a simulation.
