Of all places for Massa to crash! And Rosberg gets to catch up. Oh this is stressful!

Nico is such a worthy champion complaining about impossible racing conditions. Love it.

Why are only a few drivers using the wet, racing lines... Hamilton, Verstappen, Alonso, Ocon were all doing it very very early on and to an extent Wherlein and Ricciardo after their engineers told them to...
It's quite obviously the better and faster route so why the help aren't the others doing it. Verstappen just got several easy overtakes because he's taking the wet racing lines where as other's aren't.

Driver of the day should really go to Hamilton he would have lapped pretty much the whole field if we had no safety cars but it will end up going to Verstappen. Hamilton made it look very very easy.
Verstappen in this race is how I am when playing games online when there's a wet race, I am always way faster in the wet as I know how to drive I the wet and can feel the grip where as other's can't.

Okay, here we go. Drivers that can drive in the rain, Hamilton, Verstappen, Hulkenberg and clearly Sainz, Ocon, and feeling a little generous here so I'll put Alonso to bring up the tail end of this list. Every other driver has a vulva between their legs. Especially Vettel... man Ferrari might as well install a "push to complain" button on his steering wheel. Like Clockwork. Also like clockwork the myth that Jenson can drive in the rain. If today's result don't completely dispel that then you've drank as much Kool Aid as your garden variety Trump supporter. The fans at Interlagos looked as if they were going to rebel. Expensive tickets to watch cars follow a safety car, and be stopped because a bad driver or someone with the bright idea to go out and try intermediates to gamble for pace that they clearly don't have on full wets is, well bringing the talent down to the lowest common denominator level. Let's get back to racing shall we? Nico, your remarkable deal with the devil luck needs to hold out for just one more race. Just one more, if you manage that, then you are the champion! If Nico doesn't win in Abu Dhabi, then we'll be coronating the guy that had lower overall points finish, won less races, secured less poles and still manages to win. That ladies and gentlemen is a world class example of I'd rather be lucky than good. Looking forward to a fantastic end to this year and looking forward to seeing what the regulations bring us for 2017. Please Ferrari, get it right for once, I can't take another 3 or 4 years of the Tifosi whining about things being unfair and how they've lost every race this season because of back luck or bad strategy. I just can't. That's enough for now. Going to go update the pool, I've been procrastinating because I did shitty going for a gamble that, well I was gambling against a guy that made a deal with the devil.

Just watched the reply of the race after opting for a full nights sleep. Lewis drove well and in winning picks up another record: Wins at different tracks (24). Max drove well and was impressed with his overtaking. As Horner said live, you can see max asses the grip level, the driver in front, and then make his move regardless of "traditional" overtakes. And MY GOD! What a recovery from that spin, where other more "senior" drivers ended up backwards or in the wall. Nico got lucky. He should have finished 3rd at BEST, and if it wasn't for that first safety car I could see Ricciardo and Vettel passing Perez and dropping him to 5th. Daniel got another "excellent" RBR pit call and stuffed his race, but given that having pitted 1 lap prior to Max aat the end, the fact max made 3rd while he stayed 8th shows he really wasn't doing well. Seb needs the season to finish so he can clear his head.
Final laugh.. Ted's Notebook on SkyF1 ended with a shot of the pit board for Lewis. They had removed the bottom line so it just simply said "LEWIS P1 2016".... prophetic call?

Yeah, I did that gamble too.
And the difference in drivers that could hack it and wimps was stark.
Ah well, at least our Lewis done good. Max showed his detractors why he's so popular. Button as you say, dispelled the myth that he can drive in the rain. Alonso, Button and Vettel continued their tactic of trying to influence race decisions by crying on the radio. Rosberg was absolutely no match fir a Hamilton. Equal in ability my arse!

Verstappen deserved driver of the day, not arguments with this one. Hulkenberg would have attacked Rosberg were Perez just wouldn't couldn't. He's had the better of the Hulk for the season on points but he cant drive when it's wet. The race could have been so much different but with the various SC and red flags pressing rests it just kept going back to square one keeping things from developing into too much of a different outcome. Red Bull really made a strategic bad call today, I'm certain that Verstappen would have wound up 2nd but had they not pitted him then we wouldn't have seen the performance we did. So there's that.
The current F1 era is really coming to a close with Button and Massa driving off into the sunset. The family reunion in pit lane was touching and the Ferrari guys congratulating Massa as he walked by them showed that we probably more liked at the Scuderia than drivers before and after him. Very emotional.
As much of story book ending Nasr scoring two points for Sauber is, it really does hurt putting Manor back down to last place, they really over performed this year and to see them lose millions in one instance had to be gut wrenching for them. Hopefully their performance will get them a sponsor or two more next year.
The season really is coming to a close and I've made peace with whatever happens in Abu Dhabi, Lewis had driven as well as ever and given the reliability circumstances the fact that he's taking the title fight to the end is remarkable. Rosberg is likely going to join his dad in the father son championship wall and that's gotta sell some memorabilia right?

After thinking about it today, I can live with Nico winning this year. He has simply done his job, nothing more, nothing less. We haven't seen spectacular drives or amazing victories, but he has just plodded along getting the scraps when Lewis faltered. If Lewis hadn't had those awful starts in the first few races we would be looking at a much different championship. As much as Malaysia seems to have put the final dent in his title hopes, it was his own mistakes early on that gave Nico this lead. I've also never been one for conspiracy theories (except for a season of Vettle vs Weber), and don't for a moment believe that anything "unnatural" went on with Lewis's car this year.
Having said all that, even with not winning the WDC, Lewis has driven a brilliant season and not let the bad luck effect him as much as it would have in previous years. He really seems at peace with his life and it's reflected on track where he has never packed up and sulked. My one issue with Nico winning is going to be dealing with the anti-Hamilton crowd going forward. They STILL harp on about that one season Button beat him and I really can't believe people still rate him far behind Vettel as a driver!

In a race where we saw three world champions spin, two world champions complain about impossible driving conditions, one world champion complain about everything else it was refreshing to see a kid drive like a man's man, and a world champion drive like a world champion.

Not sure if it was Sky or CH4 commentators after the race but they were relishing the thought of Max going up against Lewis in the future, with no mention of this years impending WDC winner among those thoughts.

And here's a world champion complaining about and 18 year old kid in the team he jumped ship from because of Ricciardo.
Translation, hey other people spun too, I'm a good driver, really. Who'd have imagined that life at Ferrari would be this difficult only the second year in? Oh yeah, Fernando Alonso, that's who.

The Red Bull drivers are getting way too much praise for something obvious and rather easy...
There's a significant performance difference in the wet between Red Bull and teams like Williams, Force India and Ferrari and that's because their car has far superior aerodynamics and the engine deficit in the rain is negligible so in the wet Red Bull are comfortably faster than all of the other teams (except Mercedes)
It is well known that Rosberg isn't anywhere near as good in the wet compared to drivers like Hamilton, Verstappen, Sainz, Alonso, Ricciardo... etc
The reason the red bulls were able to overtake so many cars was because they were out of position in the far superior car with fresh tyres against drivers who were on very old tyres (race long) and even some cars who were on the wrong tyres (intermediate) so it was obvious that they'd catch up and make up the time lost in the pits especially considering the field had been closed up again due to the safety car and red flags.
The only praise they should get is the same praise that Alonso, Ocon, Hamilton, Sainz and a few others should get and that's using the wet racing line, I was baffled seeing drivers like Vettel drive on the dry racing line, that's obviously not going to be the faster row route.
Also praise should be given for a very lucky save and for wanting to race just like a few other drivers including Hamilton, when other drivers (Rosberg and Vettel mostly) were wanting it red flags because it's "too wet"

He did a very entertaining and very well performed drive. That you can't take from him. He was however on twenty lap fresher full wets than the rest of the field. So I'm with you on that.
However, when he overtook Nico, that was a one on one, with Mercedes clearly being a supremely difficult car to overtake in a track where it's already difficult to over take. Once past Nico he put in a huge gap to him, that's why he didn't even lose the position with the spin.
That to me was a bigger credit to his driving in the rain than the overtakes after the new wets were put on.

As much as it was fun watching Max come from 14th after another great RBR pit call.... it was his early driving that caught my eye, including holding that aquaplaning and not crashing. His overtakes on Kimi and Nico early on were great.
