Any statisticians/historians here know how many previous Champions rabbitted right after winning the title? I just realized Nico will never drive a lap in F1 as World Champion. It's like getting promoted to CEO in a multinational, and then you quit. And then you tell your grandchildren "I used to be CEO (for a few seconds after promotion)." I think it was 5. Just read something on it a few days ago. Nigel Mansell being one of them after the 92 season. Then came back in 94. Jockan Rhyndt also, being posthumously champion. I know I butchered the spelling on that.

A fine list.... Mike Hawthorn won the 1958 WDC then retired straight away. Funny enough, he didn't win the most races that year, the 2nd place guy (come bloke called Sterling Moss) did. Jochen Rindt Jackie Stewart Alain Prost Nico Rosberg

Here it is, by the numbers, not surprised Hamilton comes out on top but some of the other results are surprising indeed especially when compared to their teammates.
