Even the gap between the #7 Toyota to the 2nd place #8 Toyota is quite something, must've been quite some lap.

I'm pinning my Porsche hopes this year on the GTLM class but it's Le Mans, anything can happen and we saw that last year. It's absolutely insane that despite the differences in performance and the lenght of the laps and that it's a 24 hour event and they still manage to somehow finish on the same lap fighting for the victory.

Could be a similar battle when Audi and Peugeot had their good battles at times, Peugeot had the edge on pace while Audi had the edge on fuel economy, even getting a extra lap over your rival during a stint is big. Not sure who has fuel economy on their side but that will play a part as usual. Hopefully Porsche has a edge there to make a interesting battle out front.

Porsche have already stated they can't compete on pace and are looking at alternate strategies. Those Audi Peugeot battles were insane. We need a couple more LMP1 marks to come in though, would be nice to see Cadillac or some other American brand in LMP1.

Well thats not too encouraging to hear, hopefully Porsche find something. Is a bit of downer with only 6 LMP1 cars but if its a good fight between the Toyota and Porsche then it well be alright, Definitely need atleast another serious Manufacturer in the lead class though.

Le Mans has not been kind to Toyota so far. The competition at this point nearly at the half way point is the top five GTE cars all running within three seconds.

Well what a first half!
Toyota, for all that speed, are done. 2 out and the 3rd unlikely to complete minimum lap distance after spending over a2 hours having the hybrid system rebuilt! Porsche 100% going to win LMP1 class, with the #1 car 18 laps ahead of the #2 Porsche and 29 laps ahead of the #8 Toyota. LMP2 looks GREAT! 3 on the same lap (only 10 laps down on the leading LMP1 car) with Nelson Piquet Jr's car leading Prost.
Certainly going to have a mixed overall podium!

Next year's race is going to be a lot different. Hearing all about these independent LMP1 teams, very interdazting.

Pretty lonely in LMP1, more teams will be much welcomed, Works teams or not. Thank goodness for GTE, been a really good battle so far there.

1:41 behind now. These LMP2 cars are really quick actually. What happened to the Porsche? I just woke up and started watching, still haven't said what.

#1 Porsche dropped oil Pressure and force to shut it down, although after a couple attempts Lotterer tried to get it back to the pits on eiectrical power but just couldn't do it.
Just a case of the #2 to catch and pass and most importantly just make it home without issue.

Shit, feel bad for Lotterer, I like him but that number 2 car was LAST, and now they're 20 seconds from gaining the lead. Wow it's bee a topsy-turvy one.

topsy-tursy for sure,
A "P1" back in P1, just a matter of Porsche 919 making the 24 hours now, LMP1 cars have been pretty fragile in this edition.

19th Le Man victory for Porsche, hatrick, 15-16-17! I'd say that it's been a successful return for them. Congratulations.
