Well, never had Massa in the points...Usually when I do, he screws that up, when I don't, he puts on a performance...Screw you too Felipe

The move up from the back between Vettel and Massa so far seems like a case study in how to and how not to.

Hamilton and Rosberg were both cruising out front and just minding the gap between him and Rosberg. Every time Rosberg closed the gap Hamilton would just respond with an even faster lap and then towards the end of the race (lap 66 onwards) Hamilton decided to pull out a 3.5 second gap easily but was told to lift and coast a bit more, they had tons of tyre left just they were marginal on brakes and marginal on fuel. If they had started with more fuel they would have been so far ahead.
Vettel and Massa both did much better than I thought they would, a 2 stop was the faster route so Vettel went the right route with using up his supers and then doing soft soft.
Poor drive from Raikkonen, silly mistake by Grosjean, wrong strategy by Maldonado (pitting way too early)
Mercedes were dominant again, 37 and 34 seconds ahead of 3rd place and if we workout the difference of where Raikkonen should have been by using the pre-spin gap and the gap between Vettel and Massa and Raikkonen should have been 3~ seconds ahead of Bottas which is just as dominant as 2014 races.
Awful by McLaren, they were massively lifting and coasting within the first 25 laps and struggled with fuel until both retired.

Due to the lack of safety car the Mercs had to indulge in some serious fuel saving n the second half allowing Nico to stay a manageable gap behind Lewis, making it look a lot closer than it really was. As Lewis showed in the first half that he is pretty much 0.3 seconds faster than Nico at will. could be that Lewis let him stay close enough so he would cook his brakes - nah Lewis isnt that cynical, and he had Nico covered every which way the whole weekend
Vettel still as sloppy and incident prone as ever when mixing it through the field. Great show by Williams and Massa putting the engine to good use. A customer trashing the oldest and best funded factory team. Alonso is too good to be in the McHonda project whereas Button looks at home.

I was kinda concerned when Nico was just a second behind since I thought there was another stop to come. Couldn't believe they did 1 stop for this 70 lap race with SS and S! But when I figured it out around lap 54 I figured it made sense that Lewis would just let the gap decrease and make sure his fuel issues are of no concern and there won't be any excuses later to DSQ him lol.
Most comedic part of the weekend was Rosberg saying on the podium "I lost this race yesterday". Clueless punk, the guy had no pace whatsoever. Lewis could've started 4th and still won.

Not at bad race behind the Mercs actually. Funny though that in a weekend when Ferrari shows up with their hyped PU update they finish 45 seconds behind the wining Mercedes.
Really, what's happened in the sport is that Mercedes showed the establishment Ferrari, McLaren, Red Bull... you know, all the teams that get a second helping of cash from FOM that they are not even close. Good to see the talk and the hype laid out in the sunlight for what it is.
Too many teams resting on their laurels, now, they've got what they've got. It's a good time to be a real challenger.

Nico would see the distance closing and his natural instinct would be to push to get even closer for an attack, not taking into account the harm being done to his brake problem. Lewis would simply open the gap up again when things were too close. Rascal! Yes, I think he is that cynical. Such fun.

I wondered about Lewis trying that tactic of backing Nico up, I think its fair game, he was leading and its up to him to set the best pace to ensure he wins the race. I thought Vettel did well to get to fifth but it was a ragged performance. Brundle named him driver of the day and I don't think he was worthy of that. Kimi threw away a podium. I thought Massa did a good overtake of Ericsson, they were so close, both did well to avoid contact. I also enjoyed Alonso's rant on the radio, when on top of all the issues they have with that car, he was asked to save fuel.

Here's a fun fact... Maldonado has finished in the points 8 times in his entire F1 career. What? Did I just read that right?? Makes me laugh at the guy even more !

He has also finished on the podium once and won a race once When you think about drivers like quick Nick at the opposite scale of the points finish per race without a single win its hard to know whetehr to laugh or cry or for whom

In the pre race show, they were listing down all the factors which led to Maldonados DNFs this year...and none of them have been his fault.

That Grojean crash seemed to be a move from Grojean in the early years.

Most comedic part of the weekend was Rosberg saying on the podium "I lost this race yesterday".. Ha ha. Yet after quali he was talking about how not getting pole wasn't too bad because there were plenty of overtaking opportunities on this track.

Off to Austria... Red Bull's abysmal performance there last year could be dwarfed by their performance this year. Where will it end?
