Hamilton should have tried to give Rosberg a tow like Williams were doing, it nearly worked. 2 tenths would have been enough for Rosberg.
Great job by Raikkonen, I'm glad he got P2. I'm sure Ferrari went for more of a qualli setup than race to try and do what they did today, will be tough for Rosberg tomorrow.
Hamilton needs 1 more pole next race to equal Ayrton Sennas record of most and to beat Alain Prosts record of in a row
Nice to see Force India getting both cars through.

Hamiltons pole lap was slower than his Q2 time whereas the rest improved, so either his engine was turned down or he took it easy. So theres probably a hidden gap of another 1/5 second or so. Theres no way Ferrari have closed to 2/10ths behind Merc on a power circuit AFTER Merc was over a second ahead in FP1 where they likely had the engine turned up

Hamilton giving his WDC contender a tow? Hahahahaaa
Funny how nonchalant Lewis was when asked about the engine issue "nothing which I'm concerned of in my side of the garage" huh?? They don't even know the problem and are still investigating if it could return for a later race, but how do we know Lewis' engine is fine?
I'm already amped for the start. Both Ferraris with nothing to lose, if Hamilton isn't careful it could be a magic day for Rosberg. Very delicate situation.

I dont think Lewis would have much problems overtaking both Ferraris in or out of the corners or with drs on the straight. So if they jump him at the start he should just tag along and pick his moment. Seb is likely to be a cowboy off the start fired up with 'passion' and as aggr3ssive as hell with no WDC at stake.
Nico will struggle to overtake both Ferraris but will be very cautious and so could be mainly fighting the Williams.
RoGro on the rampage with a Merc engine could be the man to watch if anyone ahead tangle
The last time Lewis topped every single session was Hungary so there is the potential for his engine to go pop, or some other dramas, however even if Lewis dnfs, its possible the cautious Nico will not make the podium.
So whatever happens Lewis will lead the WDC still , and by at least 10 points even if Rosberg comes 2nd
this is how ever race should be for a Lewis supporter

The way people go on and on about domination you'd think that what Mercedes are doing has never before been done in the history of the sport. Yet here we are, with complaints about stifled competition and F1 being no fun.

Hamilton giving his WDC contender a tow? Hahahahaaa He had nothing to lose really, Rosbergs setup isn't as good and he was uncatchable. Better to have a team 1, 2 and have a rear gunner than no rear gunner. I dont think Lewis would have much problems overtaking both Ferraris in or out of the corners or with drs on the straight. RoGro on the rampage with a Merc engine could be the man to watch if anyone ahead tangle According to Niki, Toto and Rosberg he wasn't that much down on power compared to Hamilton instead it was just setup. Rosberg also said he wasn't surprised by Ferrari being "closer" because he thinks his Mercedes were running lower engine modes. He chuckled on several interviews with this almost like he can't believe how they stayed ahead. A little worried for Hamilton engine tomorrow.

Mercedes certainly took a big gamble bringing the engine upgrade here, but with big gambles come big rewards. Lewis could go write a song about Nicole tomorrow instead of start the race and still leave there with a lead. Mercedes is thinking long term and I guess they wanted to look at the new power plant here. They are about a year's worth of development ahead of everyone else.

Knowing Ferrari, they went all out on a max quali speed setup to impress the fascisti-fosi and Sergio. Chances are they cant run those modes during the race. Theres no big tyre advantage either. Should be interesting tomorrow, lots of answers

Without accidents or reliability, I'm thinking, Lewis 20 seconds ahead of Rosberg. That reminds me, let me go place my picks.

Merc have now found the fault with Nicos engine and it was merely a leak in the heat exchangers, so a 50 pence seal. So it appears to be the right gamble to let Lewis qualify on the new unit. So we have to assume all will be well with the engine. Which really should mean a grand chelem for Lewis unless a Ferrari leads at the start of the race for more than a lap

Ironically another 50 pence part, just like Lewis' spark plug insulator at the beginning of the season in 2014.

Its a sure thing, Lewis has this race in the bag, The Merc/Lewis combo will be unbeatable in the race, Be interesting to see the response from the tifosi when Lewis gets his 1st place trophy.

This is the perfect post to jink the f*ck out of Lewis, thanks Frontrunner. After Vettel's "crash me or let me pass" start at Hungary, I'm wondering what sort of shenanigan he's going to pull this time around. No doubt the Ferrari's starts are better than Merc. I hope Lewis takes it easy, with all the red fever and bad driving that might take place on the first lap from the Ferraris.

Once again Button is suddenly happy with the car an had a 'perfect lap' because he finished ahead of Alonso who had traffic on his final run
Lets see what he says after the race, lets see what Alonso says - and we know he likes to say things back

So Lewis kept his cap on when that silence happened. All to hide his stupid hair. Bit selfish when you think your hair dyed is important to remembering a man.

Apparently Ferrari used a mode on their engine that was even higher/more aggressive than they have used all season
When using this mode it takes out a significant amount of their qualli mode ability.
So we were right with them going all out for qualifying, there's talk of them likely to use more of their engine life in the race too just to try and get a home win

Holy crap, Kimis start was non existent.
Hamilton pulled out over a second in the first lap alone.
Both Lotus cars out in the first lap...
Stupidly good start by button, but McLaren are so slow! The Renault cars breeze past.
