Track LayoutAUTODROMO NAZIONALE MONZAMonza is regarded by many as the embodiment of Formula One racing.
Not only is it a fantastic example of a track that combines speed with skill, it also has a heart and soul all of its own. It has seen some of the finest races of all time, but also some of the sport's worst accidents. The names of great drivers and the sounds of engines from years gone by linger in the grand old trees surrounding the track in the royal park.
Work began on the circuit in 1922 and was completed in under six months. After Brooklands in the UK and Indianapolis in the USA, it was the third permanent race track in existence. With a banked oval incorporated into the design of the road racing circuit, the total track length stood at a whopping 10 kilometres.
Formula One racing visited the circuit as part of the inaugural season in 1950, and it has remained a permanent fixture on the calendar ever since.
Over that time, Monza has borne witness to an incredible list of historic moments, famous victories and horrifying crashes. All combine to make it one of the most magical places on the Formula One calendar. For many there is nowhere that encapsulates the sport better than this circuit. The Italians call it 'La Pista Magica', the magic track, a description few would disagree with.
Its going to happen at Monza. Monza is near Milan in Northern Italy. It's Tifosi land. Ferrari have their factory quite near. Mika cried in the trees there once when he crashed. Lewis won last year Its a fast track. Heres a bit of history about it www.silhouet.com/motorsport/tracks/monza.htmlHere's some pics of the track ( they'll appear at the end because that's what pictures do) Now the hub of the post......... My tickets are arriving tomorrow!!!!! Oh yes!!!!!!
Okay. Now over to you RyRy. Make it sexy babe, make it sexy!! Oh and here's the pictures....... I'm sitting at umber 8 on the second picture.

Bernie does not give a shit if Monza goes. All Bernie is concerned about is lining his own over stuffed pockets even more, and providing his parasite daughters with money for mansions, lap dogs and collections of Prada handbags. It's sick. Sooner someone else, NOT OF BERNIE'S CHOICE, takes over the better. IF MONZA goes that will be a tragedy. And what do we get? Azerbaijan called the European GP. Bollocks. Okay, little rant over.

Oh yeah, Magny Cours 2000 is in my all time 5 top favs....since DC drove quite an un-DC like race and owned 2 Ferraris.

The talk seems that Red Bull will take new power units and therefore grid penalties for both Ricciardo and Kvyat at Monza. I know that Ricciardo has one PU left and that was the brand new one taken in Austria and that PU is near the use by date already (well for Renault standards anyway) Anyhoo probably a good move by Red Bull seeing they won't achieve much in Monza anyway and then its all good to go for a good result in Singapore hopefully.

Last year Massa was on the podium, giving the Ferrari fans *something* to cheer about. What will this year's podium bring? I'm feeling another Merc 1-2 but not quite sure of number 3. Since it's the lowest downforce track period, this may be Williams best shot but Force India looked for real in Spa and Lotus will once again be strong. Interesting times indeed.

How did Williams go in Austria this year, I can't recall? Anyway I think their performance depends very much on the weather, if it's cool they're almost a cinch to get 3rd place. If not it's Ferrari.

Forecast is cool. At the moment it's saying 15deg C min and 22deg C max. Goddammit! I only have 'hot' fan gear with me. It's also forecasting rain.
The only current driver to win Monza in the wet is Seb. It was his first race win in 2008 and he became the youngest F1 winner at 21yrs old.

If the Ham gets up for the win, i'm sure you wouldn't even notice how cool the forecast is. Still be better than the Moto GP race at Silverstone with the rain there, not sure how those Moto GP grid girls there do it in the outfits they have to wear.

If Williams is ever going to make a statement this year, Monza has to be it, they're struggling with DF and this is the one place DF is not a requirement. Top speeds should be insane.

Toto Wolff estimates a 365kph speed trap time from his cars which is 4kph above last years speed trap set by Riccardio of 361, Mercedes last year did a 358 with Hamilton.
We could potentially see an in-season record set if we manage to get to 370 during the race, maybe with DRS & tow (double tow/double drs could work)
