McLaren really are coming in as a Joker card, they could be in for one hell of a season or a 2014 Lotus-like season.

I'm really interested yo see how Mclaren go. They've said themselves they'll have teething and reliability issues. This year if they're fast but unreliable, I'd take that as a very good sign and look to 2016 for them up there fighting. If they're slow and unreliable, they've big problems!

They feel inherently fast, it's the reliability that will do them in this season. Weird thing to say given the season has yet to begin, but 2016 is going to be better still.

The courts will give a ruling regard Van Der Garde and Sauber on Wednesday.
The lawyers for Sauber say it would be dangerous as he has never driven the new car and hasn't had a seat fitting.
I don't think he courts will rule in favour of Van Der Garde.

A good pre season testing wrap-up from Peter Windsor and SCARBs. Just the perfect thing to get in the mood for the weekend. I've always had a soft spot for Peter as he used to be on the US broadcasting team as the paddock guy before he ran off to try and start the failed USF1 team. Always loved seeing him bumping his way through crowds to get an interview.

I measure it by the start of FP1 that's only 3 days and 20 hours! 3 days and 8 hours now. Update on Lewis' negotiations should come up anytime now. Hamilton: No unreasonable demands in Merc contract talks
Lewis Hamilton insists the delay in signing a contract extension at Mercedes, one he is personally negotiating, is not down to unreasonable demands on his part. Hamilton split from his management company last season and, after winning the world championship, re-entered contract negotiations to extend his stay beyond the current season. Reports suggest Hamilton is on the verge of a bumper deal which would make him the highest-paid driver in the sport. But the Brit says he has not used his status as reigning world champion to dictate terms to Mercedes. "Naturally, I guess the target for every driver is to work towards being the benchmark," Hamilton told the Telegraph. "I don't talk about status. You want to progress, as everyone wants to in life. You obviously want to feel your worth. We are not in a discussion where I'm saying, 'I've won the championship, now I want this'. You can ask [team boss] Toto [Wolff]. It's a progression as the team progresses." Hamilton admits personally negotiating the deal has been a challenging experience but one he feels stronger for. "Have I enjoyed it? I'm not too sure I've enjoyed it. It's been an experience. I'm glad I've done it. If I'd gone through my whole career and not done something like this then I would have always been wondering if I could or not. But it's been a very nerve-racking experience." _____________________________________

I am sure no one goes into negotiations and says what they want is unreasonable.

Checkout this 2010 pole lap with the car that everyone* thinks has the highest downforce of any car in f1 history.
Personally I think it looks pathetic at how planted, scalextric style the car is. I much rather seeing them have to fight the rear more.

His first f1 race start! That was amazing. I knew he took Alonso at the start but I'd forgotten the Kubica involvement. Class! Great post and very timely Ang!
