Heres mine, While you sea level, waterview dwellers are facing flooding due to climate change and rising sea levels, I will be up here with a spare room or two if you need it.

Heres mine, While you sea level, waterview dwellers are facing flooding due to climate change and rising sea levels, I will be up here with a spare room or two if you need it. Except that the 'sea level set to rise catastrophically' people are probably the same people who claimed 'climate change due to human activity' and based all their data on flawed computer predictions, but won't back down because it suits governments to levy green taxes. But in your sky apartment you may need to watch out for a mini ice age that would foul up the helicopter and you might slip off on the ice and fall right down. I MAY have a spare room in my hovel by the sea, the warm sea near the equator that will be least affected by the mini ice age.

My self sustained sky pad will be located at the highest point, closer to the sun. i wont need helicopters as i will be staying up there, above the ice

Well it may be closer to the sun but as you go higher it gets colder, so your sky pad will freeze up.

My solar panels will be more efficient as they power my underfloor heating, also the sun will warm up my swimming pool and other parts which will then release the heat at night. The whole thing will be controlled by an ERS type system built specially for me by Merc

I wouldn't need a tame swimming pool because I will have the whole big beautiful wild sea. And the underfoot heating will be the pebbles warmed by the sun. Should the temperature dip in the winter months then a roaring wood fire could be lit and Id lie in front of it on goats skin rugs. Merc might send Lewis along for winter training and to keep him safe from the ice.

The whole thing will be controlled by an ERS type system built specially for me by Merc I have a question about solar panels... how good are they? We have what I think we would have quite a good roof, firstly there's plenty of roof space, some flat, some at a 40~ degree angle and it gets sunlight most of the day, the house next door is 2 garage widths away and blocks a little bit of the sunlight until it's mid-dayish but some of the roof will get sunlight from morning to nearly dusk. It's angled pretty much towards the sun when it's at the highest point in the sky so I would have though it's perfect and as for the flat roof, that would only need panels to be mounted at an angle to do it. In total there are 2 garages worth of flat roof and probably 1 and a half garages of angled roof. As for the main roof in the morning the sun hits the front very early and in the evening the sun hits the back until very late in the evening. No idea when you get the most power out of solar, if morning and evening are equal then I would suspect even the main roof is pretty damn good for panels.

It's not the end of the world! This mini ice age is survivable. Not bad at all in some of the warmer places. Id be fine near the equator.
But yes, if you absolutely had to do it as a last resort, your way takes some beating.

NOOO!!! I didn't mean that! I mean it's not the end of the world, so you don't need to do those things. But IF it was the end of the world, and you had to do it, that would be the best way. I mean I couldn't shoot a gun in my head, or drown, or jump off something or under something, or stick a knife/sword in me. I just couldn't do those. But drifting off in a warm bath drinking wine would be acceptable. how did living an idilic life by the sea turn into best way to kill yourself??

No idea when you get the most power out of solar, if morning and evening are equal then I would suspect even the main roof is pretty damn good for panels. The factors are intensity of light (lux), efficiency of the conversion to electricity (i think its less than 25% max now) and ocourse the catchment area. So lux will be affected by quality of light, but less about orientation and more about atmosphearic conditions I think. The orientation of the panels will affect the catchment area, because when you have your fixed panels, each one will have a different optimum catchment area depending on where the sun is. What you need to do is get an energy storage system, so that you are storing energy converted from your panels all th time, then you dont worry so much about where or when your panels work best
