This is where I want to live. It's a tiny village, remote but not cut off. And it has four or five restaurants and maybe one tinsey shop.
Id live in one of those little houses by the sea. It wouldn't matter that it's little because Id be outdoors most of the time, it's hot all year round here. I'd cook outside on a BBQ and in a pizza oven and id mostly eat fish and salads and fruit. Id get my fish from a weather beaten fisherman who would also tell me stories about all sorts of things.
Id sleep with the doors and windows open and listen to the sea and Id get up when I wanted to, 5 a.m. or 10 a.m, wouldn't matter. When it was stormy and the sea was savage, Id like it all the more.
When I woke Id go down to the sea with a coffee and think. Id like to paint but I'm not creative like that in the conventional sense, so Id make pictures and wall hangings with beautiful fabrics. And Id find unusual stones and make things with them. But mostly Id write poems and stories, sad ones; but not only sad ones.
Every day Id swim for two hours in the sea. Id work out how far I could get in an hour then turn and come back. Id also climb those hills in the back ground and go further afield on a bike. I probably wouldn't have a car but I might have a little boat.
The concessions to modern life would be an Internet connection( so I could talk to you lot! ) I wouldn't be bothered with a tele, Id read lots. Also hairdressers about four times a year, that would be it really.
I wouldn't wear shoes at all unless I was walking or cycling. On GP days Id walk along the cliffs or over the hills to one of the resorts 2 or 3 hours walk away a and watch it in a bar. In the colder months ( December January February) Id wear long floaty skirts and baggy jumpers. The rest of the year, bikinis, shorts and vests.
As the sun went down Id be sitting back down by the sea, this time with wine. When it got dark Id move near to the house , a porch or verandah and light candles and read.
I might have a dog.
( Internet here is really crappy and I can't upload pics at the moment. I'll add them later)
