We get tons of complaints every year about liveries looking the same, boring, ugly... etc etc and sure I too wish we'd see some crazy liveries like Red Bull's testing livery last year or maybe a florescent car... something nutty it would be awesome.
Has no one thought of banning certain areas of the cars from advertising? Like with Aero, limit them on where and how big advertising can be.

You talking crazy talk! If a customer is willing to pay enough money for it, Bernie would dress like Ronald McDonald.

Even with the limitations of catering for sponsors, the paint job designers seem to come up with Godawfully boring designs, with a few exceptions. The good ones are distinctive, pleasant on the eye and stand out, you always know which car it is. Of the current crop, well, last years, the good ones ..... Williams, Mercedes, Ferrari, Lotus were OK, Red Bull were OK but Torro Rosso too similar. Mclaren used to be good but I didnt like last years ( missed a trick to go black and orange) And the rest, boring. They morph into one and I can't always remember in the heat of battle which car it is. There was one looked like the McLaren, was it Manor? So many possibilities and opportunities and they come up with boring stuff.
Good ones from the past still stick in my mind.... JPS obviously The yellow Jordan with the stinger on the front The turquoise Benneton I suppose there's always the chance if you go out on a limb of coming up with a disaster, like the earth car. But these are top designers.......

Agreed though, need some better liveries but never liked the RBR, looks messy to me. I'd like to see Renault return with the blue and yellow.

21 and 88 are my favorites. The lower numbers are well executed but look a little off because of the 17 inch rims.

The moral of the story is that good liveries are few and far between. My preference is always for bright solid color blocks or well defined chassis lines. Still my all time fave was the old Benetton B190. Then again the chassis designs of that era are generally my favorite as well.
