Button is still looking for the real thieves of his ex wife's wedding ring. What a dickwaad thing to say, he just really can't help it though. At least he's still the most complete driver in F1 or something like that.

I actually think he was on for the position that he said, he was going decently and the lap before he dropped out it looked like they were going to get a decent points haul.

I'm almost torn to have Alonso back in China. Vandoorne kept Jenson on his toes more than well enough. It is a shame about the DNF, the McLaren had bit to fight back on more than one occasion so the tide *has* begun to turn.

Lame duck up to his lame antics, and again at Bahrain! Funny race this one, the one track which Raikkonen still remembers how to drive It can be no coincidence that the only track on the grid where alcohol is banned is the only track Kimi remembers how to drive

Here is a good one for you...... www.skysports.com/f1/news/12433/10268260/jenson-button-very-nearly-joined-williams-in-2015Now Jenson has laughed this off, according to the actual article above - so it could just be Crofty's opinion - However, Jenson isn't going to admit to it - not when he is still hoping to stay with McLaren. But with Vandoorne biting at his heals, I'd say this SURELY has to be Jensons last year at McLaren? So would Williams REALLY consider Button? After everything in the past? And with the amount of younger talented drivers around?

Really? Frank Williams would take back Sir Backstabber after that contract debacle when JB left them high and dry to run to Honda?
Frank Williams' words were along the lines of 'a contract is a bond, Jenson has compromised his integrity and shown his word isn't his bond'. I remember the key words very well, or else wouldn't be quoting it. If this story is indeed true, people in F1 are really fickle in nature aren't they.

Haha, the steak dinner brigade earning their Button brown envelopes The clue that this is complete crap is here Should Button leave? Like he is the one deciding to stay or go the last 3 years? So lets say for arguments sake that he did decide to 'reject Williams' last year and stay at Macca, why would he now decide to leave when Macca have gone forward and Williams backward? I am sure Bouiller claimed last race that McLaren now as quick as Williams As if Frank Williams would have the backstabbing duck back for a fairy tale swansong - like he has been holding off the last decade just to have a fairytale ending for buttcrack?

And heres some classic Croft steak dinner inspired commentary from the last race 'And now Jenson can overtake the car in front to get in the points, especially as Jenson has tyres 15 laps younger, but Button is holding station'

There are quite a few people out there that are big Jenson Button *AND* McLaren fans. All is not good in life at the moment.

I seem to have upset Jenson and his fans. Ha-ha - Im now getting torn apart by Jensons followers.... Edit: Yeah, I got so much abuse, I've had to make my profile private! lol That'll teach me. So the twitter convo went like this: LRW: every day @jensonbutton is sounding like another one of the old #f1 drivers. Has to give an opinion on everything to keep himself current. @jensonbutton: Are you not giving an opinion? LRW: No, Im stating a fact. The whole of jensons followers: Lets annihilate this fucker.

I seem to have upset Jenson and his fans. Ha-ha - Im now getting torn apart by Jensons followers.... Funny how touchy they all are in duckland, sounds like Jenson is nervous about being replaced by Van Doorne mid season once McLaren work out that it generates excitement

F1 is too much business for a personal issue Sir Frank has to stop them signing Button if that was the best option for the team. Especially considering the company is public. Personally, I laughed when Williams got screwed over on that one, given the way they dumped Hill for Frentzen and then dropped Button for Montoya. As for the man of the thread, I actually do like Button and often stick up for him on various forums when his driving ability is called to question, but have to agree with LRW in that he's sounding like another one of the "Back in my day.." old men of F1.

Looks like Button is on his own on this, even the steak diner club are hedging.
Even the Guardian are telling it straight
Jenson would not have lasted half a season in the Red Bull camp had he started there

I actually think Button would have lasted at Red Bull if he had started there, maybe even have had a better early career. Williams only brought Button in for his first season because they had to wait a year for Montoya to finish his Indy contract before joining the team. Although he made a couple of rookie mistakes, he was impressive in a few of the mid/end season races. He did well enough in the time following that they wanted him back when Montoya moved. Besides, Williams has a dubious history on driver choice anyway. Look at Damon Hill for example, finished 3rd/2nd/2nd/1st in the WDC then gets dumped for that legend of the sport Frentzen. The replaced Hulkenberg with Maldonado, Barrichello with Bruno Senna, there are more exapmles but you see my point.

When you look at the performance of recent Red Bull rejects there is no Buttons early showing against his teamates would have seen him thru were JEV and Alguesauri etc failed. He had some good races later in the season but got half the points of his teammate in his first season and got spanked in his second season. No way would he have been kept on. In those days there wasnt a line of academy drivers waiting to enter. Wiliams wanted him back because they had sponsorship and commercial interests in a British driver to balance the Ralf/BMW German side.
If Jenson had started at STR last year and hardly improved over the year and then got spanked badly this year by another rookie he would be toasted duck - more Scot Speed than Kyviat - also there was testing in those days. However if Jenson had entered via the Red Bull academy maybe he would have had to produce his best from the start instead of shopping for Yachts
