Dunno, unless they're all going again and he wants to keep the tyres newer? Maybe dogued has been on to Mercedes and told them the rain will miss. The time'll get him through anyway. Well my cousin's husband has friends still there (he worked there till Brawn sold), and I have been giving her updates... hahaha Lewis won't be going out again. He's doing 1 stop tomorrow, early, and taking softs to the end.

Well yes, I am now. Those tyres a six laps old to start the race on. Unless they found in testing that these tyres last long now , it's advantageous to start on them scrubbed in?
@dogged Ah!

BTW they are just saying the information was wrong, according to Pirelli it was a new set. These idiots can't even relay the right information to the audience.

Q2 Surprises/Thoughts: - Surprised that Force India didn't get any car into top 10. - Great lap from Grosjean - Verstappen still slower than Ricciardo. - Kvyat out qualifying Sainz - Why did Vettel brake / slow up on the start/finish straight. - Apparently Lewis was on a new set of tyres not used (FOM issue) - Perez got blocked by Massa on a hotlap... penalty incoming.

Just said again Hamilton was on new tyres. So that was a good lap from Bottas.

Holy shit, first shootout. Vettel 0.002 faster than Bottas, ouch.
Hamilton had a crazy last sector, absolutely dominated it.
Unlucky for Ricciardo, the rear just gave up and he was a passenger.

I admit, I was a bit worried at the end of Q2...when Vettel braked so hard before the finish line and still managed to be only 0.3seconds slower than Mercedes.
Breathing a lot easier now. But it seems Ferrari has managed to close up on Merc...wow, miracles do happen for inefficient overrated outfits.

I think DR actually touched the grass that started the spin. Brundle disagrees.

Mercedes might already want to start reviewing their NO No.1 and No.2 policy.
If Ferrari does the unthinkable and keeps up with Merc this year in development, Vettel is a threat. Especially considering Ferrari almost never breaks down.

Fantastic lap from Bottas with a very impressive middle sector and Hamilton had an insanely impressive first sector, followed up with a decent 3rd sector but he did have a poor middle sector. Vettel just getting Bottas again.
Only 2 tenths separating the two teams, much much closer than previous years but I still feel Hamilton will comfortably out-do Ferrari through the race.
Vettel had the fastest 3rd sector of all teams by 0.070 over Hamilton and 0.250 faster than Bottas.

Ferrari traditionally always has better starts. Merc changed their system but has it done the job? Tmr will tell...
Well, the Tifs can rejoice a little....Ferrari definitely in striking distance for the Championship now. If they keep this up in every race weekend.

*and breath........* Good job! Will we FINALLY see a Hamilton vs Vettel season? We've seen how that's gone in previous years: For everyones knowledge, Hamilton then pulled a big gap on Vettel and overtook VDG and won the race in 2005
