There would have been quite a lot of radio chatter about that but the FiA chose not to broadcast any of it. I suspect that's what happened RyRy we'll see what come around with Barcelona and the first big wave of team upgrades.

Ferrari's day could be well summarized by these two events. "We are behind BOT, Kimi" "How did that happen? Why didn't we box earlier?" "He was leading the race, Kimi"

Watched in a bar without the sound, but a massive screen. Boring race.....offset by the alcohol ... Pleased for Bottas. No idea what was going on with Lewis???

Overtakes...
Lap 1: A few... most because of Stroll spinning. Lap 5: A few when Daniel Riccardo's car broke down.
Other Laps: 0, YES ZERO! overtakes.
The only overtakes were down to retirements and pits...

When will they award the driver of today's race award to Verstappen or Vettel?

That shows you how terrible the race was for overtakes as you can see where Riccardio's car fails, where two cars pit with the safety car, where the pits are... but no overtakes lol.

I was fearing for this race in the early stages, because after the safety car, things seemed to drastically stagnate.
Nonetheless, those last 10-15 laps were on the edge of the seat stuff. Massa p****d me off by holding Seb up at the end though.

Massa p****d me off by holding Seb up at the end though. Holding him up from what? He wasn't getting passed and if he was complaining about difficulty overtaking back markers, it wasn't going to happen. Still Vettel manages to look like a whinny prick in the race car, despite being a funny guy outside of the car.

I don't buy the "overheating" and "looking after the car" as an excuse for why he was so far behind today, it might explain not being 3rd, but he wasn't going to win (even if I did tip him). And I agree, Sochi is a BAD track. It gives rubbish races and honestly looks a bit like an old CART race with no fans. Just constant shots of concrete walls. The only thing worse than this track is Eddie Jordan. How can you "not buy" the overheating issues, it was very clear when he came into the pits that his car was HOT, his brake actually temporarily caught fire so clearly his car was over the limit, he had no chance after that to actually take it to Ferrari because once the car is overheating it's hard to bring it back down without losing stupid amounts of time so mixing that in with the power drops it's the only logical thing to do, save the car and drive for your current position because you have zero threat behind. As I said, the overheating and backing off explains why he didn't keep pushing early to try and get Kimi, but what I said was I don't buy it as a reason for him being so far behind Bottas and Vettel, although I really should clarify that I don't mean actual TIME behind, but his overall performance was far behind. He never looked like a guy who was going to win from the first lap on Friday.

I think both Mercedes & Hamilton left Sochi the precipitants of a gift horse. In Barcelona there are upgrades, and set up data abounds. Will be the first true gauge of how the rest of the season will go.

Just saying, still standing by my Bottas WDC in 2018 prediction I made 4 years ago. Quite pleased with that result.

Wait a minute... I mean, sure you made a prediction but it was edited. Still you get partial credit as far as I'm concerned.

This was the prediction you updated every year it didn't happen?
As far as I'm concerned, your prediction is null and void.

I never changed it, I always said 2018 and for that he'd have to leave Williams.
I'm not THAT deluded.

so it seems that Lewis is on the downward slope having peaked in his career. with his 'peak' being a tiny little speed bump in a dreary, not so dazzling career. never has he blown away a teammate. it's always been close when he has taken the title. he is beginning to be out driven by bottas this season and it seems he has run out of excuses. there are only so many times you can claim that THE best car on the grid is lacking pace. finally he admits that he is simply a slow driver: www.yahoo.com/sports/news/mercedes-apos-lewis-hamilton-provides-230431773.htmlvettel has been out qualifying and out racing him in a second rate car. the fact of the matter is this, he never looked dominant at the top even in the best car with special treatment. now the performance of the cars is tightening he is emerging as a second rate driver and buckling under these early signs of pressure. my prediction, Mercedes will realize bottas is a better driver in 4 or 5 races, they will focus on him for the championship rather than Lewis, Lewis will drop off even more so as not the main driver and his career will essentially be over. he will slip into the category of forgotten champions such as Alonso.

Special treatment you say? You really are not feeling well this morning.

but you agree with the rest of it? anyone who has button as a teammate and loses, EVER, cannot call themselves a good driver. whatever the circumstance. you could have no hands and still be considered the favourite against button.
yet he lost and is starting to lose to botTAS. his only explanation is 'I'm stumped'. pun intended
