Oh dear... loads of people on various sites are suggesting that the Vettel/Hamilton overtake was just as bad as the Rosberg/Hamilton overtake... lol Vettel overtook Hamilton cleanly and fairly, it was a perfect move that puts Rosbergs attempt even more to shame. streamable.com/qota2Hamilton's engine appears to be fine, it was a loss in fuel pressure and Mercedes are confident that if it wasn't hot and Hamilton wasn't pushing the car like he was it wouldn't have happened. Plenty of rumours going around over the tyres and tyre tread for the remaining races, we might see Pirelli change the tyres on safety grounds reducing the tyre tread for all/most races as the blistering could be unsafe. It was the perfect display of the difference between an intelligent guy and a dumbass on the inside line.

I do not like Vettel. That was my statement when he came on the scene, and it was absolute. The last 2 years however, he has softened my outlook on him. He has had to work harder than he ever did at RBR and has pulled off some great drives / moves. This was one of them. Unfortunately, it partly came because he's an arrogant twat who pretty much parked it in quali while waiting for a nice space. Hell, he's even had me smiling at a couple of interviews over the last 12 months. Damnit.
Tyres.... I'm about 2 races away from actually agreeing with everyone that Pirelli are morons and we should have a tyre war again. I've spent years defending them, pointing out that they have been giving F1 exactly what FOM asked for, but they saw these tyres blister during winter testing (and NOT just at Mercedes) so much so that they created a "thin" version. So why not just stick to that and accept it? I can understand the tyres that had already been made for the first few rounds, but it's halfway now.
Mercedes... look, it HAD to happen eventually. They have had the BEST reliability overall since these regs changed. The last double DNF was Spain 2016 and before that was Australia 2011. It's the first double DNF to mechanical since they rejoined in 2010. Ending aside, it was another crap call from the pit wall. I can't help but feel that if the blistering hadn't been an issue early, Lewis could have still made it work by pushing harder on the first stint and getting a gap.
The season... Well it just keeps giving and taking doesn't it! Here's to a nice "Boring" weekend for Hamilton at Silverstone where he tops every time sheet and walks away winning!

Nice post dogued. On Vettel, agreed. My sentiments entirely On Pirelli agreed. Except I’ve Long since reached my break point with them. They have a tyre that works without blistering having responded to the request of many teams in testing, THEY HAVE IT! Why the f*** don’t they use it!??! Do they want a repeat of Silverstone 2013.....just for the fun if it? Or do they just hate watching cars actually race? Mercedes. Yes. Had to happen, the DNF’s that is. But ANOTHER dodgy strategy call? How many points have gone begging this season because of Strategy Janes? He seems a lovely guy but in 4 races out if 9 he’s screwed up the strategy. And other five races may not have been so strategy dependent. He had 30 seconds to respond to that VCR. And one decision to make. Stay out or come in. He got it wrong. A five year old following F1 could have called that. I don’t understand how these poor decisions are allowed to go week after week. It was the same when Lewis was racing Nico. Dodgy calls or refusing Hamilton's requests cost Lewis. This year it’s costing Merc as a team. Silverstone bring it on! It’s going to be glorious! If Strategy James screws up there I think he’ll be lynched!
