Sometimes people can be too pretentious about poems........that's just my opinion. And thank you

Congratulations Ferrari! I had to post this poem I wrote in honour of today's win. Ferrari are back!!!!
IT'S ALL IN A WORD
Fast, a blast, it hurtles past,
Heads turn, hearts yearn
Born to race, to set the pace.
Slows down round the town,
Moans and growls in discontent,
Hear it scream. Hear it vent
Its need for speed.
Exquisite style, a work of art,
Fires your senses, captures your heart.
Touch it, stroke it, feel the curves
The beast beneath will test your nerves.
Lines of beauty, sleek, sublime,
Want it! Want it! Must be mine!
Red, blood red, red of desire,
Red of passion, red of fire.
Touches you like a lover’s touch,
Leaves you wanting, wanting much.
Fire in the belly, molten heat,
Pulsing power, rhythmic beat.
Feel the fervour, hear it hum,
B-bum, b-bum, b-bum.
Remember the ghosts of times gone by,
Always special, never will die.
Hallowed places, famous faces,
Winning hearts and winning races.
See them through the haze of years
Remember the glory, the cheers and the tears.
Adored by fans from near and far,
Crossing the globe to see their star,
Swaying banners and waving flags,
That prancing symbol on their bags.
Clothed in red from top to toe,
Tifosi, Tifosa, Tifoso.
Romance always close at hand,
Like the flick of a magic wand
Takes you to another land.
A mountain pass, wind in hair….
Flying onwards, not a care,
Into the sunset’s golden hue,
A different place, a different you.
Romantic notions, magic potions.
Dreams. Sweet, sweet dreams.
Iconic creature, every feature,
Special, unique, nature’s freak.
Ethereal essence; you can’t recapture
That feeling , that rapture.
Can’t make it, can’t fake it,
Can’t buy it, can’t deny it.
It’s in a word,
It’s all in a word

Thanks Ang. I wrote that a while back, it's one I did for the writing competition at the . It seemed fitting to post it today to celebrate Feraris return. Yes Vettel won't get a home GP will he! That's a shame, he was very popular at Hokenheim. Mind you, I bet Monza will be a blast! And I might be going!! Whoop whoop! But I will of course be clad in my Mercedes kit and Lewis flag.

Not one of my poems this time, it's by Mariane Williamson. I looked this up after reading about Lewis' tattoos. This is where the line across his chest comes from. ' Powerful beyond measure'
Our Greatest Fear —Marianne Williamson
it is our light not our darkness that most frightens us
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other
people won't feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, Our presence automatically liberates others.
—Marianne Williamson Often said to have been quoted in a speech by Nelson Mandela. The source is Return to Love by Marianne Williamson, Harper Collins, 1992. —Peter McLaughlin

HONDA
Honda comes back from the grave, talking all cocky and brave, but wouldn’t you know, their motor’s quite slow.
Now with an extra year, to fine tune all the gear, you would think they could finish a race, and at least be close to the pace.
But the motor’s too hot, and talk to the engineers they can not, so they turn down the motors, and drive like tea toaters.
The motor is junk, the chassis’s a hunk, the team’s in a funk, the whole program's a flunk.
But they continue to talk the talk, just like they did with poor old Jacques, Deep in his heart Alonso must fear, like with Jacques they will kill his career.
