Sounds like it's happening. Actually, just read there's a vote scheduled for 2018. About about rules and regulations, don't be surprised if there's a special dispensation made for Scotland from the EU, fast tracking their acceptance to spite the Brexit.

They can't give special dispensation to Scotland if they aren't a sovereign state. They are part of the UK. They will have to reapply if they become independent.
Sturgeon wants to frustrate Brexit, which is why she chose the day the Brexit Bill was passed to announce she wants a 2nd referendum. The EU may decide to fast track Scotland, but it would have to be agreed by 27 countries, some experiencing issues of cessation themselves ( like Spain) . These countries will not want to encourage separatists in their own country.
This is all supposing Scotland become independent. They lost the vote two years ago. Much of the financing of Independence was based on North Sea oil and since then the price of oil has bombed, so they really don't have a strong economic case to put to the country.

latest.....this morning. On the back of polls suggesting a large proportion of Scots want to leave the EU, Sturgeon has now abandoned plans to stay in EU if she gets Independence. But the reason she gave for Inyref2 was...circumstances have changed and Scotland is being taken out of the EU against its will.

I completely support Scotland leaving the UK, that's fair enough. Before I wanted them to stay and I still do for the same reasons but I want them to leave now too because their country voted in majority to stay in the EU, why drag them down with us.

I agree in part with you there. If the Scottish people want to leave the Uk it's their decision to make.......though they did make that decision and they said no. I personally would be sad to see Scotland leave the UK , I hope they don't.
But Sturgeon has now abandoned her plan to stay in the EU , just a day after she launched it in the face of growing Euroscepticism in Scotland.
