I don't know. Clearly Bottas didn't have the pace in the wet set up. Williams was lacking major downforce in the wet, which is why Vettel got on the podium. I think it was a valiant effort on their part but don't think the win was in the cards for them regardless of what they did.
Lewis pulled a major lead with his undercut. Even if Bottas would have been allowed to pass maybe Massa wouldn't have been able to hold Lewis back and regardless he dropped like a stone as soon as the rain came. Couldof, shouldof, wouldof... it wasn't going to happen today.

Yeahhad the rain not happened, then chances are that Williams would have lost a win due to the first undercut pitstop when they could have had Bottas pass Massa fter the start and then pull a gap head to protect the undercut. Had Bottas passed Massa and built a buffer, its likely with a 1 stopper and no rain, Lewis maay have fiound it hard to catch and pass Bottas Massa is a has being liability - having to protect his ego all the time
Maybe Ferrari were right 'FIFTY get the **** out the way pal'

@cookin, that's my point. Williams more worried about Massa's ego definitely made the wrong call today, and at such an important time.
@wb, it wouldn't matter what happened later...the point is Bottas lost a lot of race time at the beginning, we don't know what could have happened later. Him playing 2nd fiddle to his lame teammate the entire way put him much further down when he had a fighting chance of victory today. It's too convenient to say Williams wouldn't win since Bottas didn't have pace in the wet, maybe if he was ahead and pushed harder or whatever, things might have been even better when the rain came, who knows.
Williams are taking too much effort to protect Massa, it's high time to recognize Bottas is their future and also the faster driver. They're still acting like a midfield team. Time to step it up and accept making the harder calls of a front running outfit.

In all likelyhood Hamilton would have came out in 1st or 2nd and would of been able to attack without Bottass having DRS. Also, Mercedes pitted early because they didn't think Williams could out-do them on tyre life so they thought they expected that if Williams covered Mercedes that their tyres would drop off at the end of the race. Brilliant brilliant British GP. Best race of year so far On way home now . Will put sone words down later. Button crashed out right by us, so did Vetstappen. Got pics on camera. I'd be worried if you got the pics on your summer pudding... lol

What I meant was they're on the camera and not my phone. Phone feeds straight to iPad and I can post them . Camera I have to do weird stuff because I can't connect to an apple device easily. But don't hold your breathe. I'm not the best photographer. I get too excited.

Thats why Kimi is most popular - he even loses his car in a straight line with the same 'couldn't give a shit' attitude - what a cool chump!

Just imagine if Lewis had done that on the straights, leading to Rosberg eventually getting past him.
"Lewis has proven his head is elsewhere, maybe the music industry beckons" "That's what you get when you hang out with rappers and celebs all weekend instead of pulling your weight in the tests like Nico" "Lewis has MENTALLY QUIT, Rosberg is going to pounce and win this year!"
But since its Kimi "OMG, look at that amazing car control!!! Can't wait to get another pair of "I was takin a SH!T" T-shirt!"

And, in the latest episode of Keeping up with the Wolffs... “My wife sent me a WhatsApp [during the race] saying ‘You guys think you can fool us? Ha ha ha'. “I’m not sure I am having dinner with my wife tonight… perhaps an Indian takeaway.” Such fun!

I think he can do better than the 1984 Member's Only jacket. Should we take up a collection perhaps?

How on earth can someone rate it "a procession at the front" did you not see that for nearly half of the race there were 4 cars all within 2 seconds of each other and that Massa lead for 19 laps, Bottas for 1 lap and Hamilton then for the rest of the race. 1st place went to 3rd place, up to 2nd, down to 3rd, up to 1st (-2, +1, -1, +2)2nd place went to 4th place, up to 3rd, up to 2nd ( -2, +1, +1)3rd place went to 1st, down to 2nd, down to 3rd, down to 4th (+2, -1, -1, -1)4th place went to 2nd, down to 3rd, down to 4th, down to 5th. (+2, -1, -1, -1)6th place went from 6th, down to 9th, up to 8th, up to 7th, up to 6th, upto 5th, up to 3rd. (-3, +1, +1, +1, +1, +2)Doesn't sound like a procession to me...
