hahaha, a procession at the front? I bet they were all ordered according to height as well lol
turning back to grown up Sports talk, Silverstone must be a big present for the advocates of a reverse grid, lets face it - we had fun, the best car/driver combo won, we got to see th difference in race craft btween Lewis who was not bothered about who was in front and just atempted to overtake at any opportunity, whereas Nico would have sat in 4th without rain.
Bottas, Lewis, Perez, Kyviat, Max, Alonso would cause the same kind of buzz each race, and the Buttons and Nicos would be happy holding back waiting for those ahead to collide and drop off - even wide boy Stevens could have entertained us as he worked out how to let Maldo pass without drama

Yeah, that's very true about the racecraft, the ballsy move after the safety car was pretty impressive, that's what I want to see more off people trying things rather than racing like a pussy. I think that's why I like drivers like Verstappen and Grosjean who are both still a bit immature in the car (the later has grown up a lot) but the immaturity also gives us some ballsy moves. Hulkenberg is also another driver you missed out, to an extent so is Ricciardo... a past driver we would say Kamui Kobayashi who was the master of these moves at Japan (tight hairpin) and also Turn 1 Brazil (although he did take out Hamilton one race)

I want to wake up one day to the news of BMW returning to the sport and hiring Bottas and Ricciardo to spearhead their challenge. I'd be switching to a BMW cap and T-shirt immediately if that happens.

Interesting the perception when clouded by disdain for the guy for whatever reason. I've read comments that mentioned that specific move by Lewis as being amateurish. Lolzers.

That would be a great team.......but.....but.....swapping!!!!! I'd still be cheering primarily for Lewis of course. But I know who I'd be cheering for when Lewis hangs up his helmet. As long as Bottas doesn't end up in a Ferrari. I'd still be a full fledged Mercedes team supporter if the top brass was a hugely respected figure, aka Ross Brawn. I loved the BMW team with Dr Mario at the helm. It was funny how as soon as he got promoted and left trackside, the team went to complete sh!t and eventually folded.

Same lolzers who bitch about the lack of overtaking or about drs or processional races or about boring F1 and probably cheered for Kimis 'artistic' straightline spin without a car in sight

Say what? The best of race radio in Great Britain
"I'm so happy! Thanks to all the fans - that one was for you!"
His third win on home soil sealed, Lewis Hamilton can't hide his delight - or his appreciation for the incredible crowds celebrating on his warm-down lap.
"Great job Nico, especially in those damp conditions. Just one lap with the pit stop…"
It's a case of what might have been for Nico Rosberg, however, as a decision to pit one lap after Hamilton costs him a shot at victory.
"Ahh, one more lap!"
Red Bull's Daniil Kvyat makes the same mistake as Rosberg - and it proves costly as his pursuit of Valtteri Bottas is ended in agonising fashion by the chequered flag.
"Okay Sebastian just overtook me, so box this lap."
Kimi Raikkonen, meanwhile, goes the other way and gambles (wrongly) early on intermediate tyres, after being passed by team mate Sebastian Vettel at Stowe on lap 39.
Can I overtake? ...Too late. Valtteri Bottas "There are drops everywhere - I think we need to stop." (Bottas)
"Your feedback could make or break this race." (Williams)
Raikkonen isn't the only one debating such a switch. Valtteri Bottas is keen to move onto inters on lap 36, but Williams decline, telling the Finn he needs to be absolutely spot on with his calls.
"It's incredibly dangerous..." (Hamilton on lap 40)
"I have no grip on these tyres…" (Hamilton on lap 43)
"Keep me updated on the rain and what you think…" (Rosberg on lap 43)
"Six laps remaining, we can still do something." (Mercedes to Rosberg, lap 46)
Timing is everything. Hamilton gets a scare after running off at Stowe, and Rosberg begins rapidly closing in. The pair are almost together when Hamilton makes the call to pit on lap 43 - Rosberg stays out though, which proves the undoing of his bid for victory, despite Mercedes' encouragements.
"This is a straight fight to the end - we're racing everybody, including Valtteri."
Lap 23, and Williams give Felipe Massa - now in second - the message that it's game on…
"Can I overtake? I can do it on the back straight…"
"Too late."
…that comes too late for Bottas, however, who pulls back despite getting a fantastic run on Massa down the Hangar straight on lap 10
"I guess we have front wing damage, maybe something more. So box now."
For McLaren, meanwhile, the first lap produces misery - Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button collide amidst a chain of accidents, eliminating the Briton and forcing the Spaniard to pit with damage.
"We've put too much front end on the car. Also the rear is very weak. And these tyres are really unbalanced, lots of vibrations." (Button, FP3)
"Pretty horrible! It feels like something is not right…" (Button, FP2)
The accident completes an unhappy home Grand Prix for Button, who has a long wish list of improvements after struggling with set-up on Friday and Saturday.
"Take a picture!"
Some fine gallows humour from Alonso, meanwhile, after being told he had temporarily gone fastest in FP3.
"I can't do anything. I have no traction at all…"
"I don't know why, it's just so bad compared to the practice. I don't feel one corner the same."
Toro Rosso's Max Verstappen doesn't hold back after his encouraging practice pace disappears when it matters in Q2.
"I was on the kerbs still…" (Raikkonen)
"Pastor we did the limits again. We went over the limits again. We can't do that." (Lotus to Maldonado)
Kimi Raikkonen and Pastor Maldonado have their own qualifying concerns after having lap times deleted - Maldonado on two occasions - for running too wide at Copse.
"That was pretty bad. I never really found the rhythm." (Vettel after Q3)
"Yes, yes, P3! Master Vettel back to the podium!" (Ferrari after the race)
Vettel isn't best pleased with a qualifying effort that sees him start sixth on the grid - but come race day he gauges conditions to perfection to vault his team mate and both Williams to clinch third.

I'd be switching to a BMW cap and T-shirt immediately if that happens. Not going to lie, Bottas and Ricciardo seems like a great team. However, who would fill the seat better? Daniel or the Hulk?

I gotta say, that between Bottas and the Hulk, I think the Hulkenberg is a more complete driver. They along with Ricciardo are still the best of the next gen group of the last couple of years.

I think Hulkenberg has that little extra ability too. I mean I love Ricciardo and he proved he is a good driver but I have always seen Hulkenberg as talent underrated. I imagined he'd be at Ferrari now and to be honest, him at Ferrari no would be a better state than Kimi possibly.

I don't know about the Hulk, he's looking more and more like a faster version of Heidfeld to me. Perez is able to match and beat him on a few occasions. Not saying the Hulk is average, he's damn good but if he has that killer instinct maybe a top team would've snapped him up by now. Some guys look damn good in a mediocre car. Fisichella comes to mind. Everyone was saying teams were mad not to snap him up, when he was bringing a dog home into points and "outdriving" the car. The moment he was given a front running car he became Mr Average.
Bottas' resilience under pressure of a much faster car is what stood out for me. Quite a few times this season he had Kimi and Vettel right behind and simply unable to pass. Lewis got him back at the start, but during the race he had to do it with pistops, same as Rosberg (in the wet).
No if I were a team boss, I'd choose Bottas over Hulkenberg...and Ricciardo for his feistiness. Bottas to be a benchmark for speed and consistency under pressure, and Ricciardo to spring a surprise win or a podium when no one expects it. IMO, as time passes Hulk is fading bit by bit in the 'most wanted for the future' zone.

A very comprehensive play by play recount of what led to what given the craziness of commentary out on the interwebz. The link also shows the sectors 1,2 & 3 times for the pertinent laps.

It was a no brainer for the fans, but Lewis apparently was "lucky" to make the call. Lolzers. Yup, only the people at that same geography along with Lewis at the time can confirm how it looked, not th muppets in the commentary box, not the retards at home - and from the comments there was no doubt at all that pitting was the right thing to do. if Nico hadnt been hell bent on using his better conditioned tyres to 'prove another point' he would have used his cerebrals, like Lewis and Seb did to work out that when it starts raining in England, it aint gonna stop till at least a clouds worth of water has actually descended But you still have idiots everywhere say it was lucky call by Lewis or even more retarded - that Nico bearing down on him panicked him into a gamble - lolzers (of course someone on the retard forum has to have had this opinion from their viewpoint on the sofa)

I've got a winner... so I read in another forum the argument of all arguments. If Nico was lucky to get the win in Monaco, gaining 17 points on Lewis because of it; Then Lewis was lucky to get the win at Silverstone because of the rain. Remarkable the amount of delusion humanity is capable of.
But I guess if a pastor in Brazil can convince women in his congregation that his penis contains holy milk, anything is possible.
