If Bottas doesnt perform well in 2018. Ricciardo is needed. He's a fair driver and this is what Hamilton want. Dont miss that opportunity Toto.

Ricciardo will cause turbulence. Two cocks in a hen house always brings trouble. If Britney was here this season, you can bet Mercedes would still be sweating now since Britney would no way hold up any Ferrari for the benefit of his teammate. Spain wouldn't have happened, many other occasions wouldn't have happened.
I'd pick Ocon, a fresh face who can give the no.1 some trouble and keep up most of the time but if needed, play rear gunner for the veteran in the team.

I prefere Ricciardo to be honest. Old mans know how to behave and talk the same langage (except Rosberg) (Well what I said was garbage, I believe Ocon will be better than Ricciardo post 2018 and could be a real treat to Hamilton) Ocon & Hamilton sounds like a clash of generations to me. And Ocon's developement as a driver is lowkey insane.

I think Mercedes would want to look for their next star who can be groomed under Lewis. Definitely Lewis will be retiring in 5 years or so, and they need to look for a star now. Ricciardo is a possibility but why not someone even younger and who doesn't really have allegiance to any team yet? Ricciardo is a RB guy, I think he'd stay there for quite a while. Max is also an RB guy. The only other potential stars out there are Ocon and Sainz. But I feel Ocon has performed very much like a Kimi in his first year in F1, incredibly quick and consistent and giving his veteran teammate huge trouble. And he's got fight in him, doesn't take any shit from Perez.

Hammer What do you think of Ocon end of the season (Brazil, Dhabi) ? Did Sergio underperformed until Mexico and found resources to outperform Ocon who seemed to be on a high ?

Maybe Sergio just went up another notch. But whatever it is, if I were a team boss in F1 with a decent car...Ocon is the best value for money out there in terms of talent vs potential vs cost, hands down.

I've never seen Alisson in such a good shape. He enjoys his time at Mercedes so far. Its make me very happy for him.

The power of winning in F1... I bought a Mercedes to replace my very old and very tired Audi A4 Avant. It's even got the AMG sports package. Just like the one Bottas drives.

From reading articles since the last race of 2017 and looking at how Mercedes were pretty comfortable on pace at the end of the year I do believe Mercedes' claims that they only went for a 90% car and that they didn't understand the car at the start of the year.
I could genuinely see Mercedes coming back this year with a better car than 2017 dominating the championship not quite as much as 2015 and 2016 but more than 2017.
I also think Red Bull will leap frog Ferrari and I can sees McLaren getting right in there too.
With Sauber getting a much better engine we should see a much closer midfield battle.
I think 2018 will be the best year for racing in quite a while. In one way I hope Mercedes don't do as good as I think they will.
