So with the confirmation of Hulkenberg at Renault, there's going to be a game of musical chairs down the grid. Would love to see Wehrlein move into Force India, which leaves room at Manor for a rookie.

Would love to see Wehrlein move into Force India, which leaves room at Manor for a rookie. Same here, would now like to see Wehrlein take Hulkenberg's spot at FI and that does seem to be the likely move with the Merc supplying FI, Also rumors floating around that Hulkenberg and Palmer could be a direct swap but I don't see that one happening. Also looks like Lance Stroll is a dead set certainty to take Massa's vacant spot at Williams.

It's going to be the silliest of seasons.

Seems Wehrlein has fallen of the radar for the vacant seat at Force India in rumor land, Talk lately is Nasr (bring sponsors money) and Ocon (Merc backing). Although there is still plenty of silly left in this silly season to come.

And Nasr is getting his ass handed to him by Ericsson... go figure. Let's see where things wind up but like you say, still a lot of unknowns for next season.

Apparently team bosses think Wehrlein is a bit of a thicko, latest example being in FP3 in USA when he beached the car and the team kept telling him to kill the engine and he simply refused. And when asked why during the interview he was like "I missed a lot of FP2 and then to make a mistake so early I couldn't imagine it had ended that way"...and while he was busy with his imaginations the engine temps were going through the roof.

Money still talks hey... surprised Maldonado hasn't got a mention.
What would seem really weird to me is that if Ocon gets the Force India seat ahead of Wehrlein. You think Mercedes would prefer to upgrade Pascal first unless Force India has some sort of issue with Pascal. Just seems to be a no brainer for both Fi and Merc.

Thats the first I've heard about that, I've missed most this weekend due to time zone difference. But still he is regarded high at Mercedes, Perhaps Ocon has a chance to leap frog Wehrlein.

Pretty sure Renault just confirmed Palmer as the other driver for 2017. Ericsson, Nasar, Ocon, Wehrlein, Haryanto, Gutierrez, Rossi, Leclerc, Sirotkin...... any other names floating around for the last spots? Leclerc is a Ferrari driver, possible to see a Sauber seat?

in-diddly-doo
I also heard Buemi was snooping around for a seat and one of the other myriad of Toro Rosso drivers. I think Mercedes will want to keep a Manor seat warm with one of their asses, Force India is going to be the interesting spot for me. At first I thought Wherlein for sure but I'm not so sure now. Rossi keeps getting passed over because he's got no money, I would have thought his chance was with Haas but they want nothing to do with him because they *need* funding.

I'm thinking Ocon is close to a done deal for the 2nd Force India seat, So Wehrlein is stuck at Manor probably.

Whats confuses me is that Ocon is now in a better Merc powered car than Wehrlein, does that mean Ocon moves up ahead the pecking order pass Pascal in the Mercedes ranks?
