now way no how Kimi remains at Ferrari, no way no how Rosberg leaves Mercedes, and no way no how Red Bull let Daniel to leave. The silliest thing may be how McLaren does, I think Alonso will not stay if 2017 doesn't bring McLaren to regular contention for podiums and the occasional win.

I meant re-sign, not resign ( Kimi) lol. I always get that wrong.
Maybe the Red Bull cockups have actually done Danny a favour. Because if they do start the shit they did with Webber to favour Vettel , and try favouriting Max, Danny will walk. So I think they have to be very careful. Max is a massive potential, but he's not yet in Danny's league.

Ferrari have Vettel (who already got his ass beat), a bigger pay packet, and the PASSIONATE TIFOSI.
Redbull has Verslappen, Boy Wonder who can break many more important records with them that Ricciardo is already too old to do.

But this is important! Right now they're both around the same level, I personally think RB will win a Championship before Ferrari does but if I were Ricciardo I'd be worried about my team motives and where their importance lies - with Verslappen carrying a huge amount of hype, a fantastic age to become super famous and help RB sell millions more poisonous cans to stupid teenagers around the world.

Doesnt Ron ever learn - only poach employees from teams that cant afford to counter-trump your offer, otherwise you are just getting the guy a raise - Ron seems to think McLaren is still in the Senna/Prost days

The fact that desperate (for lack of a better word) ideas like this are being discussed is troubling. In a way this would doom the six teams to a B spec class and they know it. Even Haas with the boom it made coming into the season with the development aid of Ferrari is now back to the mid field showing that in F1 it's not just about showing up fast, it's about remaining fast through development in season. You've got to be able to do both and have the budget and manpower to do both while keeping a focus on the next year's cars.
A way to save money? Stop re-inventing the formula every 3 or four seasons and simply allow teams to convergently evolve their designs. It would solve cost issues as eking out additional performance would be astronomical and the driver would mean more and more of a performance gain than one hundred million in development would gain a team. It's a win/win why doesn't the FiA and FOM see it that way?
Like in politics... the haves like the status quo.

Renault seeking ‘charismatic’ leader for 2017 Date published: August 8 2016Although Cyril Abiteboul is not ruling out retaining Kevin Magnussen or Jolyon Palmer for next season, he says Renault are wanting a “charismatic” leader for the team. Renault is one of several teams yet to confirm their line-up for next season.
Although both Magnussen and Palmer are hoping to stay on for a second campaign, Renault have been linked to Sergio Perez in recent weeks.
Test driver Esteban Ocon is also believed to be in the running.
But whatever route Renault take, managing director Abiteboul is hoping that they will have a “charismatic” leader at the helm.
He told Autosport: “From Renault’s perspective, what we are looking to see is people buying into the long-term project.
“We want them to be able to act as a leader and ambassador for the brand – and leader for the team.
“It’s not easy when you’re young, so there’s more to come from them [Magnussen and Palmer] with their involvement, in their capacity to take the role of leaders. We need that.
“When I look at all the big teams they all lend themselves to the leadership of charismatic drivers from [Sebastian] Vettel, Michael Schumacher, [Nico] Rosberg, and so on, and we will need that.
“I’m not saying they don’t have the capacity to act like that, but we will need it at some point in time.”
He added: “It would be unfair to make a decision too quickly without enough insights, data, evidence.
“We know Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, and so on, are under contract, so there won’t be any movement this winter.
“So it’s better we do not rush any decision and take more time to form an opinion about who we have in priority, and that is the best way forward.”
But while a driver change looks possible, Abiteboul concedes that Renault have let Magnussen and Palmer down.
To date Magnussen’s best result of the campaign was his P7 in Russia, Renault’s only top-ten showing, while Palmer’s best was his 11th place in Australia.
Abiteboul added: “A number of races have been altered by operational aspects from the reliability of the car.
“The power unit is reliable, but the car has been less reliable, unfortunately.
“That’s an effect of how late we were in putting together the whole package last winter, while the structure is also taking shape.
“In terms of driving, I see Jolyon is really picking up the pace. It’s very impressive.
“Kevin has the capacity to do better, and when I say that it’s not to get at him, it just means we continue to believe in him.”— Em...anyone see anything slightly twisted with this piece?
