Take it you're a button fan?
I reckon he is a decent driver. Just gets super flustered all the time.
Ever seen the film 'A fantastic fear of everything' with simon peg? I bet he's like that guy in real life
I'm not a button fan but I agree with Dogued, they were doing laps a couple of seconds slower than others because of how much they were both having to lift, just look at their onboard cameras they were lifting and coasting like crazy I dunno, they way he said it on the radio made him sound panicked. Like he didn't want Alonso to challenge him. They should ban all team orders. It's rubbish that a team has the power to just take away all competition and excitement. And when a driver begs for them to make that kind of team order, that's a tad pathetic.

I'm not a Button fan, but I have no issue with the guy and his career. He went through some pretty crappy cars over the years, so I never begrudged him winning a WDC like he did, it's not like he fell into the team at the right time.
How it sounded over the radio is offset by what was actually happening on track. He wasn't being caught by Alonso, had no real fear of being caught, but was worried that this fuel saving was going to cost both cars points. As for team orders, they've tried banning them and certain red cars found ways round it. As long as Ferrari are part of F1, it will never be truly banned.

Button is going to come out fighting after the summer break now that his car is more competitive. "When asked whether it is more difficult going through an uncompetitive period having enjoyed previous success in his career, the 2009 world champion replied: "It is tough and a lot of drivers would have jumped to other teams, as we've seen with many drivers jumping teams." www.espn.co.uk/f1/story/_/id/17244096/jenson-button-fight-formula-one-season-resumesI wonder where he could have jumped to?

If you want to be absolutely incensed, time and time again. Watch the Murray Walker interview with Jenson Button. I can't begin to recall all the " you little toerag shit " Moments.

Hoist your banners and break out the champagne all you Button haters. He is done, even if it isn't an "official" retirement.
From the Bloody Biased Commentators:
McLaren-Honda have announced that Jenson Button has signed a new "innovative" two-year deal. In 2017 he will not race for the team, instead taking up an ambassadorial and advisory role. He will be replaced by Stoffel Vandoorne. In 2018, the team have the option to return him to a driver's seat.

Poor guy, he wins a championship for Ross Brawn, the one and only Brawn F1 and when it comes time to pick a driver to replace Schumacher in Mercedes, he goes out and poaches Hamilton. What does that say? He's never been the same since.

Are we feeling sorry for JB? I think historically in F1, he is the biggest overachiever in the sport given his (lack of) talent and (lack of) work ethic, a "World Champion", 17y career, it's been pretty illustrious when it shouldn't have been. Drivers with more talent to offer have come and gone without achieving 1/4 of what has.

He's a likeable chap to the toiletry sponsors. He's said so himself. That's part of the longevity.

And underwear models like him. But they seem to like a lot of F1 drivers. And likewise certain F1 drivers seem to like underwear models

I actually felt for Button today, not being able to make it out of Q1 on the final Japanese GP of his career.

Ok, some bits from the F1 magazine interview with him. It's nauseating, and he drones on, so I couldn't read all of it. "Next year I'll be an ambassador for the team" "I'll come back super fit. I'll be even fitter than now if I do come back to race again in 2018" "Well I judged that to perfection" - on laying black lines down in the garage Yas Marina 2014 ,without spinning his tyres( which isn't allowed). He did it to piss off Ron " Yeah, I'm still at my best" - on beating Alonso at Monza " I work my arse off for this team. I'm the one who's in all the aerodynamics meetings - the direction of the car, I puta lot of effort in to making sure I have my say and the car will go in the direction I want it to- so I'm in a good position this year, I don't want that to change. So this is the right call to take a break next year. " ( that ones a real pant pisser) On being ask when he'll drive the 2017 car. " I don't know if I'll drive the '17 car on a circuit. But they may ask me to test to get my feedback" " MCLaren is normally full of very talented high achievers......this is my seventh season with them. So there's a lot of pressure on Stoffel." On why he didn't go to Force Force India or Williams. "'They have their own objectives and see a long term future with a driver. But again, I don't want to race next year" (euphemism for they didn't want me) "I went to Ron's office and said I don't want to race in 2017." Lots of blah, blah, blah here about Ron telling him to think about it and the suggestion of a year off coming up. When asked how he came to his desicion. He didn't mention that he expected Stoffel would get the drive. He said he spent lots of time with his family and friends over the summer, that he doesn't normally have time to do. Even the interviewer added here that he was being 'economical with the truth'...lying. Because he spent the summer shut down in California with his new model. Anyone feeling nauseous yet?? The funny thing is, the very next article in the magazine is called " THE BOY WHO UNDID BUTTON" Where it becomes abundantly clear that McLaren want to hang on to him and the likes of Mercedes were sniffing around. Very, very highly regarded in the paddock. If they didn't give him a drive, they'd have to give him up.

With all the free time on his hands, perhaps Jenson can go in search of the thieves? F1 Jenson gassed in £300k robbery EXCLUSIVE: Robbers release sleeping gas into luxury villaThere are bizarre stories in this sport, but this... wow. Poor Jessica, she must have been so distraught. Didn't he divorce her soon after this? I think the BBC should make this into a type of "to catch a thief" re-enactment and interview all involved. With Jenson himself co-hosing! You will be missed.
