Hope we're not going back to unreliability for Lewis. He only did four laps. Apparently it was an "engine inlet" that went wrong and his engine is fine.

Oh well that's something. But he won't get out till second half if second practice. Did they have to take the engine out to rectify it? I know they take ages to put back in.

Well he got out and now he's back in because all telemetry is lost and it might be a worse problem! NOOOOOOO!!

Hamilton straight out and tops the times on hard tyres. GED IN THERE LEWIS! BOOM!
And during the lap Allan McNish was shaking his head because Lewis had missed an apex. UP YOURS MCNISH!!

I just got home after my car overheated and made me limp back home and now waiting for a tow truck. And then I see Lewis had an engine failure. Is this yet another failure on the new PU or the old one from Melbourne? I recall ang posted something about him using a new PU for this weekend?

It was an inlet to the engine failure I think, not an actual engine failure, but then there were telemetry issues. He missed all FP1and missed most of FP2 but still heads the timesheet. I hope they sort out the reliability whatever it was before quali.
edit. Hope your car sorts out!!!

Best you get the break downs out of the way now and not in the race

Yes, better now than in the race, but he is compromised by loosing practically both sessions. I know he topped the times but he's had no chance to work on race set up.

I know we're all supporting Maruss... I mean Manor (I'll be doing that forever) But looking at the car today both on track and in pictures, the back of that car looks to be as aerodynamic as a school bus. Good to be on track but it's going to be a long long road ahead for them and a year of bringing up the rear is not going to be the most dignified way to go.
They deserve a serious buyer with a serious intent to race.

Rosberg fastest in final practise, ahead of Lewis by 0.184. I heard some talk of Lewis not being happy with his brakes, I need to go search that one out. The Ferraris were next up about half a second back, and then it's pretty close. Alonso ahead of Button, with the cars of Nasr and Perez between them. It was a sweltering hot track with some measures saying 60C www.f1technical.net/news/19987

Yeah I saw Prac 3, Lewis was locking up like crazy in Sector 2 and 3. And on the radio he was like "Brakes are all over the place", then came a suspension change and he made his quickest time after that one. But many guys were locking up brakes, I'm thinking the very hot track temperatures are not helping with grip.
It's going to be tough to beat Nico in qualifying but if he can get a decent enough setup he can still do the job come Sunday.

Crazy lightning display over the circuit! Both McLarens out of Q1, half a sevind off the cut iff. think that's a first, for McLaren, nit getting through Q1 Jenson went faster than Alonso ... and Jens is saying he couldn't get the tyres working.

All cars queueing up to beat the rain!! The Mercs in the midst of the pack This could be interesting if it rains! lewis looking for space and Kimi just cut him up. EEEKS! it's gonna rain, this lap gotta count!
phew Lewis was compromised but he's ok. Kimi out.
Lewis not happy with the team for getting him out in the middle of that pack. Team said they'll investigate.
