Also found out the whole Sepang circuit has been resurfaced with a few camber changes on some corners to improve drainage, biggest change is the last corner that has gone from positive camber to negative camber from what i read, with a new surface the pole record could be smashed if dry.

It's also not a new track already, from what I understand it gets a lot of use from other series, so yeah, I expect the pole times to drop significantly. Montoya has a pretty impressive lap record though back in 2004. Not sure they'll get that low.

"Montoya"....sounds so foreign already. Time flies.

Watching FP! streaming and it looks like KMags day is a short one. His car is on fire and they seemingly can't put it out. It keeps re-igniting! Sort of the same fire coming out the air intake out top like Kimi's car earlier on this year.

Just got round to catching up on FP1 and 2.
That was an impressive fire. I thought the whole car was going to go up at one point. The way the fuel was just gushing out the top like a water fountain. (Well a weak water fountain).
Be interested to see what the issue was.
As for the weekend and the race - I think Lewis needs to win this one.

Yes he does.
His strong tracks coming up are Japan, USA and Abu Dhabi. Bogey tracks are Mexico, Brazil. So yes he needs to win this one.

Ah well, if Rosberg wins this season, that'll be alright. It'll be a shame. But I won't lose my shit like some people do when their team don't win.

Actually I find myself quite chill this season as well. If Lewis loses it, its ok since he's gotten what he wanted - 3x WDC.
What sucks about is Rosberg 'beating Lewis in the same car', you know how the retards thought Jenson beat Lewis in 2011, so this will be another (though more legit) layer in the haterz armoury.

I missed qual....but damn I wish I didn't. Looks like Lewis wiped the floor again, after having a car which didn't break down during practice.
Oh....and RB kicks Ferrari yet again. hahahaha

It was a good quali.
I want Lewis to win the championship. He should have at least the same as Vettel. Well he should have more.
If Rosberg wins, ' the mechanicals' , will be forgotten. Like you say Hammer, it will be 'Rosberg beat him in the same equipment.'

If Rosberg wins the championship this year, he will have won fair and square and will fully deserve it.
If anyone says Nico only won because of Lewis mechanical issues, then I pity them.

FUNFACT: If Alonso was allowed to qualify (and likely ended up beside Button)...the entire grid except for Renault will be featuring teammates sharing every row!

I wouldn't dare proclaim Rosberg unfit. In a straight fight fight, it goes to Lewis 8 out of 10 times. I'm still waiting for him to overtake Hamilton on track.... once.
Qualifying was pretty cool seeing the Noah's ark effect. Glad to see Button get some solace in him 300th making it solidly into Q3. Race day tomorrow it's all Mercedes unless the starts go the way they have for them. It's not difficult to overtake in Malaysia with the turn 15 changes, overtaking going into the straight will be fun, because people WILL have cockups there... aplenty. A spin or a off there could certainly throw a undercut off kilter. Looking forward to the race. Not sure if I'll stay up to watch it or just watch it for breakfast. It's 2am here so.

Oh I've been following it - my point is, mechanical failure is part and parcel of every season - and every year the championship winner will have taken advantage of someone else's misfortune at some point. To be honest I think Nico has done well to keep his head and take back the lead in th championship after Hamiltons run of form mid-season. A lot of other drivers would of seen their healthy lead destroyed like Nicos was, and would of given up and gone home.

Nothing nicer than a mug of tea, a bacon sarnie and Lewis taking the win. Plus, you know, at your age if you try to stay awake for a 2am start, you'll fall asleep before the end. And that's without delayed starts or red flagged race breaks due to tsunami level rain fall.
